Good pickup.

Can't ever complain about getting an NHL player for free.

Even though some defensive ability question have come up with playing in Columbus I have no doubt Noel and our scouts see enough ability there.

Enough with the jokes on Clitsome's name. We get it, you're a funny guy, but a lot of it is not appropriate for the board.

Scott Arniel said He had a really good snap shot , a good one timer , good feet , not a fighter but barrell chested and said he went about 235 , which is thick for 5-11.

Said he played to high up for Columbus but ideally he is a 5 to 7 guy and that he had a couple of text messages already from him and he is very excited to come to Winnipeg.

I wouldn't call him small... he is 5'11 but he's like 215 so he's built like a brick, umm poo house

235 isn't small for 5-11.

The Globe and Mail has Oduya to Chicago for two draft picks. This is correct or am I reading some fantasy page?!

Good pickup. Can cover Oduya bottom pairing role quite well and could be an asset on the 2nd PP unit with his big shot

Sorry, just started reading this thread, this post made me LOL for it's unintended hilarity..

I'm guessing Flood's in tonight then.

Well @RickRalphTSN I guess this sorted itself out in the end.

I disagree. I could complain about Miettinen for hours

This is good to know, someone who has followed Clitsome and understands how he plays.

This is actually exciting! Good trade and subsequent pickup.

Yes this is correct, a second and third rounder from the Blackhawks

in the trade thread a poster pointed out how we may now have 6 picks in the top 90 next draft.

Huge news. Great for our depth. I think, personally, we got the better end of the deal.

We just had the newest member of the Jets, Grant Clitsome on today's special edition of the Illegal Curve Hockey Show Trade deadline edition.

Here are some of his thoughts on coming to Winnipeg.

I was wondering who might be the first to point out a potential nickname for Clitsome...but given the way some of the players nicknames have come about I too would suspect the same.

I heard him on the radio this afternoon and one thing that really stood out for me was how excited he was to come to play in Winnipeg. He played in the here during the Jet's first pre-season game and he was blown away by the atmosphere. He's also excited about being in a play-off race (naturally).

I suspect we'll continue to hear more about how players are excited at the chance to play in Winnipeg in the coming years. Go Jets Go!

Good move in picking up a cheap defenseman that is a good fit as a depth D-man with PP ability. And with Jones becoming a UFA at year end, Clitsome will be needed.

LD/RD
Enstrom (UFA 2013) - Buff
Hainsey (UFA 2013) - Bogo
Stuart - Flood
Jones (UFA 2012) - Postma
Clitsome
Kulda
Redmond

Haven't gone through the thread yet. Do we know if he'll play tonight? Renney said Schultz won't play for the Oilers.

5'11'' and 215 pounds? He fat!

Nah, seriously, good move by Chevy. Brings some size to the back end. He outweights Oduya with 25 pounds. Does anyone know if he's mobile?

In the IC article above he said he's flying out tomorrow but he'll be watching the game.

Looks like he will be a good replacement for Oduya.

It's not saying much, he is bigger and nastier than Oduya.
If he's so good why was he waived?
