Turnover should start with Regier

http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/co...icle742386.ece

Not really anything new in here from Buck-O-Rama. The usual tripe: "Darcy didn't do what I thought he should do when I thought he should do it, so he should be fired."

I loved this mess of logic though.

Quote:
At this stage, Regier can't be trusted to lead the Sabres in the right direction. Any move Monday should be greeted with suspicion because there's a good chance he'll make the wrong one. Anyway, there aren't enough players available who can rescue this team after so many listless efforts and so many losses.
Quote:
Regier's record looks better between seasons, but that's usually the case with GMs. He's mostly ineffective when under pressure. Flying under the radar, not changing on the fly, is what he does best.
So.... He says Regier sucks at the deadline and can't be trusted, but then says most GMs aren't good at the deadline. LOLWUT?

He argues that Regier is especially bad at the deadline, as compared to his peers. He says he's better in the offseason, but then again, he's only on par with his peers.

I'm very critical of Bucky's journalistic style in general, but this article was spot on, I thought. The only thing you can say about is is that it's been said before, but hey - that's what 15 years of mediocrity gets you.

Maybe. I dunno. Bucky has spewed so many mind bogglingly stupid things over the years that even if he's right on something I can't take him seriously no matter what he says.

I'm so surprised that he chose to focus on Regier rather than asking the question of why guys who were having good seasons elsewhere (Torres, Moore, Boyes) didn't mesh in the Great Lindy's System. I'm sure Buckster would argue Regier got the wrong guys for the system--good joke--but that's because he's a huge Ruff apologist.

Nothing new here.

Awards:
Bucky's harping aside, Regier needs to go and the new GM needs to have a free hand to bring in a new coach.

Yup

It's too bad that Pegula and crew don't appear to be thinking that way.

The more I watch the commercial, the more I find myself strangely attracted to the blonde (I'm more of a petite brunette fan). She gets better with repetition.

Yeah. I'm actually super annoyed, because I have a friend who works there, and knows who she is. (Everyone in those commercials is employees.) I asked him to set me up with her and he won't do it, then rubs it in that she's super cool.

(He could be screwing with me of course, this is always a possibility.)

Time after time Darcy makes out like a ninja in these deals. I realize he has flaws, but it's hard to believe so many people hate him.

Haha I read his article this morning, it'll be interesting to see his response after today. I'm sure whatever happens Bucky will still be right somehow.

I predict "darcy read my article so he decided to make some deals."

Really, he'll come up with the same, 'no impact player to help win now', 'one year doesn't make up for many years or poor deadline days', 'Kassian could be the greatest power forward of all time and Cory could flame out so we have to wait years before we know if he *really* won that trade', and he'll round it out with a 'Gragnani is is +10 and much better than Sabres fans give him credit for'...

I'm pretty sure the Buffalo News has a template for these things now.

Because he's soft, doesn't get the crowd fired up and represents the same old, same old. Jesus Christ, if you can't even change the anthem singer, how is real change possible elsewhere?
