Yes to all the above. Commodore costs us nothing. He fills a spot so that we can leave Norfolk alone, if Hedman is indeed concussed or has some other serious injury. He's a UFA. We have the money and the cap space.

Commodore isn't going to do anything, but that's ok, he's on a team that isn't going anywhere this season. It doesn't hurt us any.

Capgeek had a tweet that I can't find right now, but it was something along the lines of the conditional 7th was just an official tag for letting us have him to free up a contract spot for DET with no real intent on getting the 7th. I'm fine with this deal as Commodore is a UFA, it seems Hedman will be out again, AND they don't want to raid Norfolk. With this reasoning, I am willing to accept this trade.

Pretty much. Getting Commodore will allow an end to Oberging and will keep him in Norfolk from now on + with the latest on Hedman going on we needed another body. So now our pairings are:

Brewer-Gilroy
Mikkelson-Gervais
Clark-Commodore
