Bumping this; this trade I think is the revenge of Pouliot/Latendresse.

Both struggling wingers but Pouliot never did amount to much while Latendresse kind of blossomed. I think Schultz is going to do better than Edmonton than in Minnesota while Gilbert just fizzles here.

Ugh.

BTW, one of the hardest things is watching the leadership of this team just take a nose dive off a cliff.

The "leadership" wasn't exactly producing wins (I assume you're talking about Schultz). Plus, I don't see how losing one alternate captain would constitute a leadership nosedive.

So far, Gilbert has been good. Schultz has been good for Edmonton.

Don't worry about leadership! We have 3 WJC captains on the cusp of joining the team. Before we know it, we'll have leadership coming out of our ears.

it's not "producing wins" ffs. it's the noticeable lack of energy. even the pretense of giving a **** is gone for most of the players and the ones that still do care are generally AHL guys excited about making NHL money for as long as possible. And Clutterbuck, who seems to have gone completely mental through this whole thing.
