Shame on Oilers for tweeting that before Schultz was informed. Sounds like the team is not handling it too well, but they need to get over it. This proves that nobody is truly safe, and it's a sign to wake the @#$! up!
It'd be funny if Zanon remained while Schultz moved.
For the people asking about Gilbert & Parise being friends.. I don't know for sure but I lived in Bloomington with these guys, They weren't in the same grade in middle school & then Parise left for Shattuck for High School Hockey, Gilbert stayed with us at Jefferson. I'm sure they at least knew each other because of both growing up Bloomington & playing hockey but I can't remember ever hearing too much about them being "friends"
But with that said, I have no idea where else they may have met along the way, Juniors maybe? Also, I didnt move to Bloomington from Apple Valley until 8th grade so they may have been closer before the high school years/ before Parise moved..
As for the room, the message it sends is a good one. No one is safe and get with Yeo's program. The fact that the kids continually passed up Schultz says all it needs to say.
Sure, it's a shock I'm sure. But at the end of the day, this is a business.

Agreed again. We're on the same page so long as I don't bring up Koivu
The interesting thing is...there will be a leadership vacuum. That can be a good thing. Some players will up there game. Some voices might pop up more. It can be a bad thing too with Koivu being out. But Yeo is good with younger players.
