Gotta be something like that. I thought Gilbert was beasting against Philly and made the best play of the night against Phoenix setting up Hemsky with the fantastic pass.

Sure can't be the way he was playing.

Your trying to tell me that the teachers pet Potter, makes Gilbert(our best d man this year) expendable?

I hate Pott more and more everyday.

Does Barker get a 4 year extension now?
Does Tambo really think that Petry is ready to take over Gilbert's minutes?
Does Tambo really think that Murray or Dumba will step in and play like a legit top 4 Dman right away?
Does Tambo have a brain?

Am I the only one who likes this deal? Schultz is a defence-first guy who can play on the 2nd pairing at 20 minutes a night. He's basically the same age as Gilbert and a wee bit cheaper.

We obviously still need a marquee top pairing guy who can provide some offence but I don't think Gilbert was that guy. Schultz is a better defensive player than Gilbert and we need that.

First part of a multi-team deal, maybe? Maybe we immediately move Schultz?? Please??

Anyway, good for Gibby. He gets to play in his home town.

Ray Ferraro is an idiot.

Since when has Gilbert been an offense-only guy?

Don't know much about Schulz but everyone (Crawford and Ferraro esp.) on TSN likes this trade for the Oil.

One step forward (Hemsky signing) and two huge steps back with this move.

Tambellini, you're a ***** dumbass.

EDIT - I thought it Jeff out of Washington. Nick is better, but I'd still rather have Gilbert than either of them.

Upon further review, it seems that we got a guy who plays tougher minutes overall.

Still I don't understand it.

Kind of a shocker. Tough to see Gilbert go, has been a good player for us.

Interesting both Crawford and Ferraro liked the trade for the Oilers. Saying Schultz is a stay at home very stable defensive d man that can stabilize the Oilers D. And that allow Oilers to go after the true offensive d in the offseason.
