I like Todd, and I'm glad he's playing somewhere. He's still young, and could benifit from some time in the AHL. Fedoruk actually tries to improve his game so I'm not sure why this wouldn't be a good signing.

Todd knows his role, which is something I wish I could say about Donald Brashear. Hopefully as he matures he can cut down on his bad penalties.

THis is fine - we shouldn't be diggin around for scrubs like Cote when Feds needs the ice time and can do the job.

Should Fedoruk be considered a bust? I know there were never high expectations for him, but it seems he used to be considered a solid fourth line enforcer with good upside because his skating is good for a guy his size. Now he looks like a peretual second or third liner on the Phantoms. Some blame his stone cold hands, I blame his poor positioning and defensive play.

There is no use for his type of player in Europe, so Holmgren asked if he wanted to join the Phantoms, for an AHL contract, and he accepted. Making 65,000.oo ain't bad. He'll stay in shape, live locally, and be ready to come back to the NHL, in a year or so, when the lockout is over.

This is the area that he really needs to work on in order to ever really stick in the NHL.

One thing I like about Todd is that he seems to understand when he has a weakness. Some players flat cannot do this. Fedoruk used to be an atrocious skater, but he improved on that signifigantly over the last season or so. If Todd can learn to play in the defensive zone, and learn to control that temper of his (ie bad penalties) he could notch himself a place in the NHL.

He has the physical stuff down pat (he can skate at an NHL level), he just needs to work on his mental game.

His fighting will keep him in the NHL. How much he improves his defense will determine if he's a 4mpg skater or a 10-12mpg skater. Agreed on his skating, that part of his game has improved signifigantly since he first came up.

Probably Raitis Ivanans, our new goon. We don't know him very well, so I have no clue how he would perform against a guy like Fedoruk, but at least he's big, he's 6'4 and 250 pounds. Looking forward to hear the game at the radio...

Feds would skate circles around McAllister if by thoughts you want to compare these two.
If you want CM on the Phantoms, that is a wasted roster space at the cost of guys who may eventually move up like Wood or Ruggeri.
CM would be OK on the Phantoms if the NHL was playing as a enforcer call up situation but thats about it.

Nice signing for the Phantoms. Now Pete Vandy is gone, Fridge is gonna be the tough guy of the team. He will add some needed muscles on the rink.

Go Fridge!!

Thats what im saying. Fedoruk > McAllister. McAlliser was the one whose been hanging around the team like he's the waterboy.

For those who can't see the game...Fridge is not playing tonight.

He should play Wed and the game is on Comcast.

And they coudl use him. This team has enough guys who will scrap, but no legit heavies. Ivanans (who is a monster anyways) tore Cote up. Gratton is willing too, but won't win against the bigger fighters.

PHILADELPHIA -- Somehow, Todd Fedoruk and the Phantoms are not on the same page-- nor is his signature for that matter. Fedoruk, who was a healthy scratch from the Phantoms lineup Friday, a day after the team announced he signed a contract to play in the AHL, said reports of his signing were a bit hasty.

In case anyone is interested, Todd Fedoruk played for the Phantoms last night. It only took him 2:42 to get back into form either, although the opposing player did receive an instigation penalty.

So much for skipping the fighting. Stick to what you do best Todd.
