Steven Kampfer
Quote:
ASSETS: Is a solid puck mover with enough offensive acumen to produce points at lower levels.
FLAWS: Lacks ideal size for the blueline position for the National Hockey League game.
CAREER POTENTIAL: Puck-moving defenseman with a little upside.
2011-12
AHL 12gp 1g 5pts -3
NHL 10gp 0g 2pts +6
2010-11
NHL 38gp 5g 10pts +9
AHL 22gp 3g 16pts +10
2009-10
AHL 6gp 1g 3pts -2
A little offensive upside, adds competition to the blue line at least.

Wow our D is young now! Is Foster and Gilbert the only ones over 23?

Not a bad return for Zanon in Kampfer. Could certainly help us though obviously not a ton.
Better than the last Providence d-man we got(Penner).

So are our veterans now Foster and Gilbert?
****.
Cant think of a better word for the situation. I'm just in shock that we moved both Schultz and Zanon.

Apparently Zanon is off to Boston. Not sure what we got for him though.

Bruins fans will tell you he sucks, but that's not fair.
The kid (Kampfer) has played probably 20 games in a season, due to injuries to himself and the health of the Bruins' defense.
IF, huge if, he can stay healthy and gets some minutes, you guys got a good young defenseman for a pending UFA.
But he seems to have a lot of injury issues, including the dreaded concussion problem dating back to college, and he also seems to leave himself vulnerable for the big hit.
But if you see him play with confidence and health, like when he 1st got called up to the Bruins last season, you want him on your team.
Good luck Steven.

I guess Fletch wasn't messing around when he said "youth movement".

So with the Z's and Schultz gone how does our D line up look like?
Scandella-Spurgeon
Gilbert-Stoner
Falk-Foster
Lundin, Prosser..?

@ WildHF
Feels kind of good to have a GM who backs his words up with actions.

If you're going to suck, you're better off sucking with youth!

Bruins fans though have had the pleasure of watching quality NHL'ers on defense. Lots of guys talking about Schultz being the best D-man on this team...full of AHL'ers.

It seems Kampfer might be waiver exempt? That means we'll actually be able to keep a guy or two in Houston?! We might have to break up Scandella-Spurgeon though. Can't have our only two responsible d-men on the same pairing.

Meh. I rather have taken a 4th and be done with Zanon.
Yay! More defensemen with concussion problems!
