I just wanna see this guy beat the **** outta someone already. His YT videos look insane. I will though reserve judgment until he fights, I was telling everyone when the Bogeyman signed that this guy will scare the daylights out of all the other Eastern teams & before he passed away , look how that turned out. He wasn't what I was expecting (I knew later of course it had to do with a lot of depression, ect)

When does he get into the lineup is the question.

I want to see him out on the first PP opportunity we have standing in somebody's crease screening a goalie...what can it hurt to try it ? It would also be fun to see Chara trying to shove him out of the way . I agree though that it in our best interest to give Prust/Rupp a break before the playoffs start...especially Prust ! LOL...but really...does anybody here expect him to actually back down and let somebody else fight his battle ??? Prust is not going to back off from anybody .

The guy really gets a bad rap. He takes a ton of punishment. He jumps in front of shots that are scary. Literally taking a bullet for his goalie and his team. He sticks up for his team mates even though he completely lacks the ability to fight. I'd say the guy has plenty of guts, grit and heart.
I'm as surprised over the hate for Boyle as I'm surprised over the way Dubi gets away with playing like ****. While Boyle is doing what he's payed and expected to do, Dubi is not even close to doing that this season. Still people are more concerned over Boyle's game.

Ranger fans have always liked gritty, tough, hard-nosed players. The bigger the player, the higher the expectation for that kind of play.

Big guys who aren't tanks don't tend to get a lot of love from this fan base. And they don't get much bigger than Boyle.

I think the hard think with Boyle is that he shows flashes of things that make you say "Wow, this guy could really be something." It's just never seems to all come together for very long. Last year raised the bar for him.

It's very simple. It comes down to an appreciation of "swagger" over play. Wave a stick in front of Marty, call Crosby a punk in an interview = loved for life, no matter how long you may slump.

Play hard, act like a professional and keep your trap shut, but have a down game (much less a season) - especially if you're a big dude and not beating the **** out of people - and you're worthless.

Honestly, all I think about when I hear the dudes name is Bon Scott.

At the very least, they need to play "Dirty Deeds" if he gets into a fight.

I'm predicting John Scott scores his first goal as a Ranger tonight. No backsies.

Only way he lives up to this is if he breaks Lucic's nose or Marchand's mouth open.

If he just fights another goon, then they WILL take liberties with us.

he had a chance to back up staal when skinner tripped staal into the boards. unfortunately he didn't make a statement. fair enough, it was all pretty borderline. but i wouldnt have minded some immediate payback.

Yep and a dump penalty and you would want him hung very solid game and a few good hits to go with it

Because Rupp was already beating on Skinner. Bickel was out there as well. They all had it covered. Scott was fine.
