I blame PG for the AK return. It's now been proven he could've got more.

If Nashville chokes out in the playoffs they're in huge trouble. I doubt Suter or Weber stay in that case.

Oh and... Gauthier/TROLLthier:

You're right that TSN have a rep to keep but that doesn't mean IBN/Creasy/HockeyyInsider didn't call the trades first. Eklund was wrong like always but the other three were on the money. Creasy especially impressed me, he called Pahlsson and another trade (I think it was Lee/Gilroy) like hours before TSN did.

IBN is a giant troll who does have connections, his thing with the Rick Nash trade was kinda messed up, I don't understand it... so he loses points in my book.

At the bottom? Darren Dreger. The man is not an analyst, he's not an insider, he's not anything. He's just a boob

Dont know about IBN,
as for HI, i find in him as Eklund

the least worst IMO is the Creasy. I havent followed them. So I cant say the good calls they made. I take blame for it.

They are like car sellers,
I know that some of them are legit, but its difficult to believe them

Love that trade for Van. Kassian will be a far greater factor in a series vs Boston if they Rematch. Exactly what they needed.

Agreed. Hodgson was stuck behind Sedin and Kesler. Kassian is a need and probably the best power forward prospect in the game.

Good job by Buf as well as they have Luke Adam and Marcus Foligno coming up.

Stupid trade for vancouver. If they wanted grit for the playoffs, they could have had gaustad for a first. He would have given a lot more than a young kassian.

Luc Gélinas who mentions on his Twitter account that Brad Staubitz is a VERY defensive player.

Yeah...we noticed.

My prediction: A lot more moves coming for the Habs this summer. If they draft a big center who is close to being NHL ready, I am sure they will listen to offers for Pleks. Campoli likely we be re-signed, Kaberle will be in Europe and Gomez will be bought under special provisions in the new CBA. Gionta will be gone too if they can find a taker for him... which I doubt. (... remember, just predictions).

I disagree. Kassian can be like Lucic. Play in your top 6, fight, be a POS and score. Again, Love this for both teams, but I believe this is a great deal for Van short and long term.

You read my mind...

Also, I'm really excited to see Nashville fail in the playoffs. They pulled these shenanigans last time too (acquiring Forsberg). I think they're really overrated as a franchise. Maybe it's just bitterness though.

It could very well end up as a deal that works out for both teams, but as of right now I have absolutely no idea why Vancouver would flip Hodgson for Kassian..

In the now-closed thread, Kriss E said-

"The idea that Thornton was the series changer in the finals is an absolute farce.
Really, I mean come on, how can anybody really believe that.
Ouuuhhh...big bad Thornton came in and the Canucks finally decided to pack it up. Ya, they didn't want to play anymore because Thornton got to play 5-7min a game. Scary stuff.

The Canucks relied on their PP throughout the POs last year, but the Bruins nullified them there. They also had superb goaltending that was recognized by the NHL with the Conn Smythe going to Thomas. But no, it was all about Shawn Thornton!! He's the one that made the series switch side!!

Such BS."

I have to take issue with this. While I agree that Thomas was an enormous factor in the Bruins winning, the simple fact is that they physically intimidated the 'Nucks and it was a major factor in how they won. As you point out, the 'Nucks had relied on their PP but in the finals the refs let the Bruins flout the rules at will. The key incident for me was Marchand hitting Sedin in the face again and again after the whistle. When Sedin complained about it, he got a matching 2 minute minor. So a rookie who's already established a rep as a cheap shot **** disturber is allowed to flagrantly abuse a league MVP candidate and the refs do nothing, but you say the idea Van needed to get tougher is ridiculous. The Bruins didn't nullify the Nucks powerplay, the refs put away the whistles and let the Bruins break the rules at will, especially after whistles.

Not to pick a fight, but get real. The Bruins intimidated Vancouver and the refs let them do it. If you didn't see that in the finals, you just weren't watching. To say Thornton was THE deciding factor is obviously ridiculous, but so is pretending that the Bruins goon tactics weren't a factor at all. The league let the teams play and the dirtier team was rewarded for being dirty.

It's not the cap that killing movement, it's the damn parity. If it weren't for 3pt games teams would dismantle much earlier... but then again it would ruin the playoff chase and a lot of teams need that revenue.

Kassian is a good prospect and people are wayyy too quick to throw him under the bus. Can he bust ? Sure he can but his upside is also very intriguing. The Lucic comparasons are justified , the guy has all the tools to become a goof PF in the league.

Hodgson is a good but as people said he was stuck under Sedin and Kesler in Van. If Kassian blossom as he should he's going to fill a huge need for them. It's a risky trade no doubt but that's what what happens when you trade 2 unproven guys who have upside.
