Anyway, lactic acid doesn't lead to muscle soreness after exercise. It's not a byproduct, it's a fuel, and it will be gone from your muscles within about an hour.

forget the bone injury i didnt bring it up... i brought up his conditioning and his muscles could be sore..yes? maybe...aww lets send him down....
except we cant.. great now were stuck with a 3rd linner that has size and hits
That was yet another game where our best players were our worst players. Getzlaf and Perry were both awful. Beauchemin was also terrible. We've got 4 losses left before we're done, tonight was a perfect chance to gain on teams ahead of us and our best players shat the bed.

What you're talking about is DOMS, and if DSP's level of play drops that much after two games, then he's out of shape. I think it's more likely he just had two forgettable games, because he's just a kid and he is still developing as a player(and as an adult, for that matter).
Irony is being told one has no idea what one is talking about and to "google it", then being disparaged for being an "honor student" when the first link proves your point.
I've played hockey all my life, and it still doesn't change things. Lactic acid plays no part in being sore days after a game.
how about a possible side effect of having high lactate levels and an increase of acidity of the muscles cells along with a disruption of other metabolites...could DSP be feeling these effects?

This was my point - if he's that out of shape he has no business pulling in extra minutes on the first line. Or, for that matter, getting ice time over Beleskey until he IS in shape enough to handle the rigors of the NHL schedule. If it's bone pain he should be on IR until he's healed. The season is too critical right now if he can't perform for whatever reason.

true I admit that I asked you to google lactic acid instead of DOMS... im sure i have lost alot of "face" around here...lol

I can't believe this discussion started because you had the nerve() to say DSP has been unimpressive the last two games. Talk about grasping at straws.

I don't understand the overhyping of prospects that goes on around here. I think he's going to be a great player some day if he gets his consistency up. To this point though, he's only had perhaps 4-5 games all year that wouldn't have had him back in juniors on a playoff team. He's here because the Ducks have no size in the bottom 6, it's questionable if he even is top 10 in actual skills at this point. I'd put him at #11 personally.

You won't get any argument from me, and I saw those two games. He was impressive in those, but I think you need to take them for what they are. Two games, where he showed some of what he is capable of, and that's it. As a player, he has a ways to go. Games like that have been the exception, and not the rule. Whether that changes, well, we'll see.

and there it is....knew i could get it out of him..this guy just bashed potentially one of the best future 3rd line power forwards in our history...
