Proposal: Ideas for this year's 2012 playoffs avatars

Well. It's that time of year where we start thinking of what kind of avatars we should support for the upcoming Playoffs. Now, were not quite there yet. But, within the next 10-12 games it should be impossible for the number nine team to catch up. So, think about it and suggest something if you have ideas.

And, we need a creative soul to make these! Whatever idea we come to conclusion with.

For some inspiration, here are the former seasons choices:

2007/2008 - It never gets old

So, suggestions?


My suggestion at this time is about age(because everyone else is still saying were to old) and the streak and a bit retro since it's Motown. Make it like with a music-themed slang.
With two images for the catchphrase, the first one with some crazy photo of the player and the second with some serious and one third for 2012 Playoffs or "Because were streaky" or something.

Main Theme:
21 - Young enough for ya?
21 - Old enough for ya?

Maybe with some extras a little bit of the main theme like: "21 - long enough for ya? No, I'll take 23."

I'm terribly uncreative (word?), at least at the moment, but considering what has been created in the past few years it is going to be good regardless.

I like the idea of including Motown. Maybe something along the lines of combining a player with a Motown act, or at least a musician from Detroit?

Pavel/Michael Jackson - Moves like Pavel.
Lidstrom/Seger - Some things never get old.

Just some off the top of my head, I'm sure it can be improved.

Something having to do with the streak or the dominance at home would be great too. I like where OP is going.

Last year someone suggested "hockeytown survival rules"; playing off the Zombieland survival rules....I thought it was a great idea.

Maybe a take-off of the Chrysler Super Bowl ad, only "It's the Third Period in Detroit". Each player would be a different car. For example:

Datsyuk - Corvette - "moves as good as he looks"
Homer - Volvo - "solid and dependable in front of the net"
Franzen - 1969 LTD - "hard to get started"
Bert - Hummer - "runs right over you"

I really like the Imported from Detroit logo as well, maybe it could be adapted?
