Stralman is RFA. Qualify him, and if someone forces him out of a spot, then you can easily trade or waive him.

And it never hurts to have depth. Who thought we'd rely on Woywitka and Bickel as much as we have?
Sather was on XM Radio an hour or so ago and said he expected Erixon to make the team next year, and spoke favorably about his performance in the AHL.

I think this is going to be a pretty interesting off-season, since the cupboard is full of prospects and the roster has some good, but not great talent in certain spots (e.g. LW). At some point, Slats and Co. are going to have to put together a quantity-for-quality deal, akin to what was rumoured for Nash.

There simply won't be enough roster spots for some of these guys. Count me among the masses that would love it to be Bobby Ryan, but either way, something is going to have to give, and Sather will have to package some potential together.
That may be the case...but depending on who we add this summer, and who forces their way on the team this fall, we may not have to package guys up for another year. At the end of the day it's a good problem to have.

This is all that I really expect, dont see the need to do anything major.

Would parise be great? Obviously but we got out big fish in brad and I really don't see us taking on another.

What do you think the return would be for Dubi at the draft? I think the only way to get zach if he is willing to come is to trade Dubi because as much as I love him i believe there are pieces that can take over what he is doing now. Plus with his contract it will be hard getting everyone signed going forward.

That's fine, and I don't doubt his sincerity. I just think the safest play is to bring back Stralman and move him if Erixon proves he's ready. I don't want to run into a situation where Erixon needs more time in the minors and we're banking on another random guy to fill in. We know Stralman can play so why not keep him?

Move out Woywitka and Eminger, maybe Bickel as well.

Staal
McDonagh
Del Zotto
Girardi
Sauer
Erixon

Stralman and Scott are your depth. Or, if Erixon isn't ready, Stralman plays and Scott and Bickel (or whoever) are your scratches.
