Speculation: Derek Roy+ Nashville's 1st at the draft for a better center

I'd Like to know what it would take to get Edmontons 1st round pick?

If they end up with the 2nd overall pick and the sabres end up with the 6th or 7th.

Something around our first, Nashvilles first, our second and a player/prospect?

Rolling 3 scoring lines with Hodgson, Grigorenko, and Roy down the middle is a fun idea or even if maybe Columbus takes Grig to play with nash at number 1 I wouldnt mind Yakupov and Hodgson being the Future of the Sabres

What would Edmonton want? Only guys I wouldnt Trade are Myers and Hodgson

Over the last 5 seasons, Marleau has averaged 70 points a year. Roy has averaged 65. That's not far superior.

Stastny is only 2 years younger than Roy. Also, how has Stastny proven that he can be a #1 center any more than Roy has??

As mentioned before, I like the thought of trading up for one of the studs in the draft...I love the idea of Grigorenko/Galchenyuk and Hodgson up the middle for Buffalo. Takes us from really weak at center to really young and talented.

Right. But for a team like San Jose who is going to have cap issues next summer or Colorado who has most of their roster coming up as RFA's/UFA's, shaving a bit of cap room or salary might be enough grease to make it work. It's all about finding the right situations, etc.

i like Hodgson as a high end #2 center, 60-80 point guy. If Buf can use their assets to either get one of the top centers in the draft or bring in a mid aged #1 center (Eric Staal?) then they are a team to watch out for in the future.


Edmonton might not want to take Grigs at #2 because of all the young offensive talent they've drafted the last few years so Buff could move up to their pick at snag Grigs.

EDM should one of the many dynamic d-men in the top 10. win for both teams
