Isles at Caps. 7pm. Verizoney Centre. 2.28.2012

After we win this game and go on a 5 game win streak, I'm sure everyone will forget about the trade deadline

Let's go. We make our playoff push now

Wait, there's a game tomorrow?

I thought that GMGM folded the season earlier today.

I am taking a drink every time Sarge hits someone.

Our best hope is that Knuble and Hammer if they even dress, come out f'in pissed off and make the Isles pay. The problem, is that Sarge has taken Hammer's spot. Maybe we dress 7 D but I doubt it. And I believe Knuble has already stated today he is just a practice place holder for our stretch run 1RW - COIN.

cepting the fact that the Isles seem to always play us hard the last few years.

I could see an "asleep" loss. Fall down 3-0 something as Neuvirth isnt ready for the game (Neuvy will start, I'm sure of that) in yet another episode of the team coming out flat.

Both Alex's score in the 3rd to get us thiiisssss clooooossssseeeeeee --- and we lose 3-2

Probably too early, but are Hamrlik and Knuble scratched?

Just win Caps. I don't want this to be the game from 2002 where the Isles eliminated us from the playoff race. Yes, I realize there is a lot of hockey left.

Beating the Habs, Leafs, and Islanders wouldn't make me forget about Mcphee not trading Wideman or Hamrlik.

90% of this season has been doom and gloom for me. I'm about all tapped out on D&G personally. Would rather stay positive and see how this team does without any major or minor changes....its on the players now If anything will tell us the 'heart' this team has going down the stretch this will be telling.

As pissed and gloomy as I am, I stand by what I said before: the team will play better now that the weight of the deadline is gone.

I'm trying to take this approach as well. GMGM didn't splurge on any rentals so win or lose I'm not going to let it get to me. They squeak into the playoffs, great. They miss, well at least that's some money I don't have to spend.

You know how hockey is so predictable, right? Yeahhhh. It's not.

I have been sitting on this feeling for over a week. That we actually finish the year strong. We certainly won't be accused of peaking too early, ignoring of course our 7 games to start the season.

As pathetic as our team has looked, your boy MP is getting some things done at 1C. Green can skate, who knew. Sarge is looking like a baby Chara knocking people down along the boards. That is like 3 out of no where's you weren't counting on. Let's call them... adds. Our defense has probably never been deeper. Suddenly our most consistent LD in 2012 is probably a 7. Carlson snapping out of his slump will go a long ways to helping us, and I have seen signs. We have 4-5 puck movers, George's recipe for playoff success. If O starts on the backline, maybe we don't need centers leading the charge.

Ovi and Semin are scoring to my expectations. Laich scoring a bit more may be pivotal.

If we get a goalie to actually play consistently and to reasonable expectations, does anyone see an iceberg ahead? Are you still going to be a negative nellie and refuse to make your payoff advatartar?

Life is too short to focus on the negative. George made our playoff team last summer, Ward our 4th highest paid forward ain't doing dick until then so get over it. We have no where to go but up. We have a nice homestand lined up.

Let's give George the benefit of the doubt, but let it be the final judgement on him.
