And here's Buccigross with his obligatory Rangers dig:

John Buccigross @Buccigross
Ranger fans have to take back all of their disparaging pre-lockout NJ Devil comments. The Rangers are now the Devils..
This a-hole really has some sort of inferiority complex with the Rangers as he posts something critical about them about twice a day. If he was a Devils, Flyers, or Isles fan, I could understand the hate, but I don't understand why a Bruins fan has such intense hatred towards the Rangers. He must be buddies with Milbury.
The fact that we're a boring team to play against, for the opposition's fans, means that we are doing a great job of suppressing their chances and using the strengths of this team.
It would be nice if, at will, we could start scoring 5 goals a game, but we don't have the talent for that. Maybe next time we can tank for it like Pittsburgh.

He did have the Rangers as his favorite to win the cup as of right now...

It's amazing how people can't comprehend that a team can trap one game but not be a trapping team. The Rangers did trap tonight since a majority of the game there was only one forechecker. But that does not make them a trapping team as they usually send in two or three forecheckers. Idiots like Buccigross make general statements like this based on one game. Just because a team plays great defense and grinds out goals doesn't make them a trapping team.
Little OT but does anyone have the Daytona 500 on right now? The scene right now is bizarre. A yellow flag wreck with a safety vehicle that just caused an explosion that I don't think I've ever seen. They've been red flagged for a good 40-50 minutes now and I don't know when they will restart.

Good call and I definitely have to applaud the Rangers for doing anything and everything to deny shots and passes. My only satisfaction is that you now see the beauty of a "boring", smothering TEAM defense [pro-tip: not boring when you win]. Congrats.
Well I certainly was never one to attack the 90's Devils or at any other time for "ruining hockey" as some said, because I believe that you play to win the game in whatever manner works within the confines of the rules.
Whether teams that play you are frustrated or not is kind of tough ****. Those who like meaningless high scoring at will can watch basketball.
If the league hates our D now, just wait till Erixon and Undertaker show up.
When they make it, the Rangers will have FOUR first round defense men in their defensive corps. If Sauer comes back healthy even the bottom pairing would be a challenge to play against.
