Sorry, but I agree with Supermullet, Huge. Potter has some real deficiencies on the D side of the puck, has trouble boxing his man out and even more trouble handling opposing forwards who are hard on the puck -- something that shouldn't happen as often for a guy his size.

But he is what he is...a promoted career AHL guy whose sole weapon is that cannon, playing on a weak NHL D core that desperately needs more confident and gifted puck movers.

Good entertaining game for fans but against a much better team we would have been eaten alive with all of those turnovers. Man, Horcoff...

Jordan Eberle

He is just Crazily good when given the time to dangle.

Dubnyk was rock solid today - Khababulin ready to take a step back?

I think the anger at Potter (who had a decent game tonight all things considered) is left over from him injuring a few of his fellows on freak accidents this year, too bad Horcoff whiffed but hey don't want him getting too many points (he might escape the third line if he does).

You're kidding right? He's still attacking in the offensive zone with authority and he's winning face-offs at a 50 percent clip.

Burmi is great, love watching him play. Hes going to be real good.

I thought Potter was fine. Petry was great, besides that one play. Smid... nothing needs to be said.

Soon as Eberle got away I knew it was a goal. Him and Jonesy are by far our best @ breakaways.

That was quite the whiff, but Horcoff played a responsible game and did a good job along with Jones and Eager. I like Horcoff when he's played like 3rd liner.

I love games when Hall and Eberle both score. Good to see Smyth pick up pt no.800 with the Oil. Petry played an aggressively good game (apart from his major gaffe). I thought Hemsky played great, loved his back check on a sure goal and how he mugged a Jet when they were going after Hall.

Good game.

Hey! If that was Hall on the breakaway he would have scored too!

Fair, sarcasm aside I would love Grigorenko in Oiler silks. Would be odd to see a highly skilled Russian on the roster, we haven't exactly been a hotspot for them.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. Can't trust him on defense.

Yes Horc played a good game. But that EN bobble was funny. Thatès all, no hatred from me, just a point of humor.

Congrats to Smyth for 800 pts!

And Petry has the most ice time of all Oilers at 24:09!? Great to see him developing nicely.

I think the coaches did a great job with him easing him in at the start of the season with some soft minutes, keeping him in the line up even he made lots of mistakes, and slowly giving him more and more ice time now.

Eager is playing a lot more lately. Last four games:

13:52
12:41
12:13
13:25

1 assist, +2 during that time.

Yup the only time Kane did anything was when he was up against Potter and Whitney. Petry wrecked him and Smid worked Wheeler hardcore.

I can understand that some of you mods enjoy being mods and NO it isn't like someone is abusing their power, but it's excessive to say the least when someone is closing threads with such precision that bums like me listening in from on the other side of the world can't even enjoy the ending of the game without having the surprise broken by HFboards.

If it was so important for threads to be opened and closed at such a precise time, there would be a program built into the message boards to do this because computers are much more precise and consistent than people.

I've got a few more days off, so I hope that I can tune into our next game and actually experience the pleasant feeling of surprise.
