He won't get much more than a cheap 1-2 year contract unless he really makes himself noticed (in a good way) for the stretch run + possible postseason.

Probably not even with the Avs.

It's also important to remember he has been benched much of the season so he's got fresh legs and isn't going to be as banged up as most players, which makes him better.

Solid #6/7 defender if you need speed and tenacity in your lineup.

He's been as SOLID since coming back into the lineup as he was BAD last season which is incredibly surprising.

For sure, he deserves some props!

No idea what will happen but if he keeps up this kind of play down the stretch, there will be more than one team interested in signing him. Probably not the Avs though, they want room for the young upcoming kids and will probably try and sign or trade for a top pairing guy.

its official, Sherman has won the questionable hunwick for cohen trade

put me on board with the hunwick bandwagon, like the way he has played recently.

his play has softened the losses of quincey and ROB.

skates like the wind.

I wouldn't mind bringing him back as a 7th D again.

I'm shocked I'm posting in a Hunwick appreciation thread, but he's been solid lately for the most part.

Him being so solid right now boggles the mind that he was SO bad last year. Although he did sortof stabilize near the end.

I hope he keeps this up and starts some competition for spots!

He's played pretty good in the games hes played in. Nice surprise. Perhaps pairing him with a kid made him more aware out there?

Perhaps this is what Sherman thought he was trading for last year? He has been a good player so far this season.

I'm pretty sure it was. iirc Boston fans were surprised at him being so horrible for us?

I will give him a shout. Remaining so positive while being benched 80% of the season says a lot about the guy's character- my respect for him skyrocketed and I am thrilled his play has picked up so dramatically.

Now if we can find a better nickname than "Hunny"...

Hunwick, thanks for not being the worst defenseman in the league again. Because last year you sucked so hard I couldn't bear to watch.

Besides his attitude, perhaps the most fun thing to watch has been when he plays physical along the boards. Hadn't been expecting that.

He had another solid game last night with Elliott defensively. Kept pokechecking the puck and to the outside.

Hunwick has been playing great of late. Defensively responsible and strong. Chipping in with the occasional goal.

I hope that when OB3 returns to the team on Thursday that they keep Hunwick up and scratch Elliott.

I think with Hunny playing well, send down Elliot and call up Gaunce. Would be a much better pairing.

Hunwick has been good lately, I guess all he needed was about a year to sit.
