I don't want to ruin anyones expectations but there is very little chance that Rangers will win the CUP this year that is why I want the presidents trophy to be ours.
How many times has the 2nd best team won the cup in this time frame? 3rd best? And so on..
I bet 5 out of 18 is just as good, if not better than any other position.

All teams listed above are Stanley cup winners after the Rangers won the President Trophy & Cup in 94. This is strictly from a President Trophy POV. There is room for error. When there was a tie in points I used GF as the tie breaker. The newer Champions are easier because info is readily available. Older teams I had to count numbers & such.

The President's Trophy looks like the kind of candy dish you see at weird relatives' house with **** in it that no one likes. White jelly beans, jolly ranchers stuck to the wrapper, and the like.

does anyone remember who won the presidents trophy in 2010,2009,2008? very few because nobody gives a damn about it, the only consolation prize to me for not winning a cup is a top 5 pick.
The President's Trophy actually means home ice throughout the playoffs and I want it. While President's trophy winner often are upset, they also win the cup more often than any other place finisher in the NHL as stated above. Yes, I want it. I also want the Vezina, Hart, Adams, Calder, Norris, Jennings, and most importantly the Stanley Cup. I want the Rangers to win them all and would've included the Ross and Richard in there if there were even an outside shot of Gabby or Cally catching the leaders.

Do not really care about President's Cup, BUUUUUT it would be nice to avoid the 4-5 matchup in the first round of the playoffs. That is looking like a matchup against Flyers/Devils/Pens. If the Rangers get top seed, chances are that two of those teams play each other. Which also means that most likely the 3rd of those will play the winner of another division.
