This needs to be said. If the Preds want to be taken seriously as a top team they have to beat inferior teams. No excuses for the team. Especially when you are in the middle of a division title chase you can't lose games like this period.
Lindback? What is he now? 2-7? On a team that is 39-20-7. He has a sub .900 save percentage. Also let in a few questionable ones again tonight and overall just looks shaky. He hasn't progressed the way we hoped. He probably should have been starting for the Ads this year.
Brutal job tonight. 3 of the 4 goals could be considered as "flukes" but again some wonder if Peks was in whether or not they would've gone in. Bottom line is when Lindback starts we just don't win. I don't know why....we just don't.
Seems like a typical Lindback game. Lindback plays OK, but the team around him plays completely lost.
I'm disappointed, but not surprised by the result. Second game of a back-to-back, starting a rusty backup goalie, and trying to fit a new player in the system.
I'm not crazy about the officiating, but that's not the reason we lost. We just plain weren't sharp. The bounces didn't go our way...but we didn't help ourselves with the poor passing. Hard to maintain possession when you keep passing it into your teammate's skates.
Also, it seemed the ice was really, really ******. Slow, ugly game to watch.
Got to love when people go ape over one game out of the 63 we've played and done well in most of them.
I agree. Just a bad game. Nothing went our way tonight. Weber said after the game that they just need to forget everything about this game and move on. Sounds like a plan! I'm glad the boys get a little break to recharge.
The killer was the 6 pp we gave them. They scored on 2 of them, very easily actually. In the pre-game, Tom said that the Canes have been converting at 37% at home for the last month! Cannot put a team like that on the pp. Lots of bone headed play to go around. Loved what Wilson and Bourque did though.
I am not getting into this with you. If you want to start something, I am not interested in it tonight thanks.
Tonight's issue wasn't the presence or absence of Ellis. It was a lack of discipline .... six minor penalties which were in fact minor penalties against us. The team has lost every game this month where they've taken 5 or more minor penalties. We can complain all we want about the puck coming out of the zone before Weber's hook and subsequent SHGA ... or the penalties we think should have been called against the Canes ... the bottom line is we played sloppy hockey, undisciplined hockey, then failed to capitalize on the chances we got. The only bright side is that Peks is back in goal at Florida and we have a few days to integrate the new guys into the system and Gaustad gets a couple more days to regain his health.
