you like math: at the rate we've descended is a top 5 pick out of the question?
It's not out of the question (ignoring the lotto). At this point, we won't catch Edmonton in the race for second (Columbus has a stranglehold on first). Montreal sold off some more, and are likely to tank and grab one of the top 5 spots. We have 6 points on Carolina and 5 points on the Islanders. Neither of those teams should catch up to us. Buffalo and Tampa could go either way. Anaheim should beat us out.
So yeah, we could end up picking top 5, but we'd likely need to go significantly worse than 7-12-1 (80 points). Last year 5th was 74 points (4-15-1 finish), but the 3 previous years were all 79 points (7-13-0 finish).
Two little cross checks, another jab at his side, and clear unsporting behavior in a game like this? Not to mention the 2-4 penalties he's committed during play that have gone uncalled...There's absolutely no justification to put only Clutter in the box there. 99 out of 100 officiating crews allow the fight instead of trying to break it up and give just one penalty.
