He was traded for a 2013 2nd and 3rd round pick actually.

I like this deal from the Jets perspective. Getting two early picks in a relatively deep draft for an upcoming bottom pairing UFA is great in my books.

Would be good trade IF Hawks would have added 2nd line center.

Now that the center is not aquired its a ****up.
2nd and 3rd for rental D.

Pointless move especially when you look what Smashville and Nucks did to their offense.

Slim chance to go to cup finals trough the likes of Preds, Nucks, Wings...

Liked the way Oduya improved after a bad start this year.

Not a physical guy, but a very good skater.

Good luck in Chicago Johnny O!

On the Jets side, here's to hoping that the 2013 draft is as good as many here have been indicating.

I really like this move by Winnipeg. They won't miss Oduya and were never going to re-sign him. More draft picks for the franchise is a good thing, due to their weak prospect pool. It also gives them flexibility with future trades.

Good deal for Chicago IMO. Oduya's a decent young defenseman.

Overpayment, but if the Hawks didn't trade for him everyone would be up in arms that they didn't do anything. Badly needed help on the backend, this will ensure Lepisto doesn't see the ice, and provide some stabalization on that bottom-pairing.

Good return for the Jets. There was 0% chance of them re-signing Oduya to anything close to what he's earning now. He would not be a difference maker in the push to the playoffs either.

Wasn't really impressed or unimpressed with him while he was here. I think Clitsome will replace him just fine for this year and next.

I wasn't expecting anything over a 4th rounder so good work Chevy!

Nice for the both teams. Jets got a nice return although another year before using the pics. The added value for the jets is having those extra pics for next years deadline if they want to add pieces.

Nice asset management for the Jets. Claimed Clitsome on waivers who's on a cheap contract for another year to give them a replacement for Oduya who was going to be a UFA that they weren't going to re-sign and turned him into a 2nd and 3rd-rounder.

Western teams added bullets while the 'Hawks added pellets. 1st-round fodder, if they even make the playoffs.
Would've preferred they keep their picks if this is all they've added at the deadline.

Oduya is horrid defensively and pending UFA

hahaha, I was hoping for a low third or a high second at BEST for Oduya. I wouldn't have been surprised if he went for a 4th. Good work Chevy.

Is the 2013 draft expected to be deeper than 2012?

Oduya is definitely not horrid defensively. He's actually been decent in his role for the Jets.

Jets fans or swedes, do you know how much he wants to get on his next contract? Want to know if Bowman is able to extend him, if he does his job

Can you maybe keep the S&M
on your teams board, if you're into that?
