I agree w/ the Flyers assessment of 09-10. If I can remember correctly they got into the playoffs that year by winning in a shootout on the last game of that regular season eliminating the Rangers. From that point on they just caught fire and went all the way to the finals. With our defense and goaltending all we need is just ONE guy to light the world on fire offensively and we'll go far in the playoffs!
And there's our avatar. Can someone photoshop Porky Pig in a Kings jersey on that red Looney Toons background?
I know you can do it Ron Swanson
Made this one and realized that I used the wrong quote. It's closer to what Porky actually says, but it's not the quote you guys were using ("It's not over folks"). I can change it tomorrow, but I need sleep.

No changes needed my man. This one is gold! Let's make it a little bigger though
How many games have they played with carter? Kings are 2-1 with 9 goals. That's a fact.
While they have scored 9 goals in those 3 games they have only given up 2 and 1 was on a deflection off of Drew's stick and the other was a misplayed icing by Richards. So defensively we are much better with the additions of Voynov and Carter and subtraction of Jack. Offensively the facts show we are better.
Must suck to see your team win for the "It's over" thread OP. LMAO. -Coz there's no freaking way, this thing is over. And that's where the biggest fallacy of his prognostication is: it's just not the Kings supposedly doing the "impossible" and win so many games but that the other teams will continue to win as well.
Carter let me down last night, I said he would score the hatty
So NOT over yet.
WAY TO GO BOYS!!!
HA! He was SOOO close. If he had any more leverage on his stick from the backhand to live the puck over Hiller's pads, it would have been in. Hiller was down and out.
The Kings still have a solid chance to make the playoffs. It's looking like a much higher hill to climb right now, but just a few weeks ago it was almost a lock that the Kings would make it. Things can turn around quickly.
I'm calling a 4 game winning streak starting tonight in Minnesota. Kings will be back into the thick of things by the second week of March.
Three straight so far. Time to make it four against Columbus.

They're beginning to make me hope -- that's usually when they dash that hope to pieces, but I'll keep hoping that this year Lucy won't pull the football away...
As of this second, 93 points would get the Kings the 8th spot after losing a tiebreaker to Dallas for 7th. 95 points would win them the Pacific division (pending tonight's outcome of EDM/SJ)
So, 9-6-1 to make the playoffs, 10-5-1 to take the Pacific.
Odds that Jack Johnson is a minus in this game? Things seem to be falling into place for the Kings.
Jackets are playing well right now, and JJ was a plus-2 last game with a goal and an assist. He also had the most ice time of both teams. I have a feeling it's going to be a pretty intense game. I hope our offense continues to roll!

Go Kings Go!
That thread didn't start because I wanted the Kings to suck, it started because I was tired of watching them suck, it's called frustration. Who knew they would start playing like the team we've all expected to see since the start of the season...too bad it took them 65 games to get it going.
Still a tough schedule ahead, and they will have to continue this play to get in....but I hope they do.

Like I said before, I hope I'm wrong. Either way, it's a shame they aren't in a better place right now and have to fight so hard for it...they are so much better than what they've shown for the majority of the season.
Before the season started, I never even considered they would struggle scoring goals this much - especially after adding Richards to the roster.
Did anyone think they would be dead last in GF (ok, 29th now?) Hey, keep moving up a few GF spots each sweek, and this team can still win the Pacific Division. Two weeks ago, that possibility was laughable.
GKG!
