Yeah, I'm sure he could have made it for another 48 seconds

I don't give a **** that he tapped, really. I give a **** that he tapped instantly without fighting it. Fight it for a few seconds and tap. Don't just tap like a punk the minute full mount is achieved. That was a joke. Almost seemed fixed (though it obviously wasn't).

Kampmann has excellent chokes and Alves isn't exactly foreign to jiujitsu. It was locked in before they hit the ground, and to give Thiago **** for tapping too early seems a little ridiculous imo.

I chalk it up to Thiago being a general loser these days. He's a shell of his former self. And I am certainly not the only one giving him **** for tapping instantly. His fight IQ is just horrible. Going for a takedown there was laughable.

For the most part you are. I think one other person in this thread agreed with you and I haven't seen anyone on twitter or anywhere else mention it either.

He's an idiot for going for the takedown there but not for tapping.

Commission screwed up scorecards Johnson vs. McCall was a draw. Should have been a 4th rd. BRUTAL

Just un-****ing-believable. As I said -- there is absolutely no ****ing way that MM won that fight. No way. ****ing lame that Creepy didn't have a fourth round to smash MM in (which would have happened).

Alves looked good up until that point. Shooting the double was dumb, but so is criticizing him for tapping to that choke.

No judges scored it for McCall, and you don't know what would have happened.

I'll criticize anyone for tapping instantly like that when no limb is being threatened. **** that ****. At least give me a LITTLE bit of a fight. It was a pathetic tap from a shell of a fighter.

And no crap on the second point. Except the fight's momentum had completely fallen to McCall. MM looked done. You think McCall would have just rolled over after that? He had that fight in the bag. Especially if it went to a 4th round. Unless MM made some insane comeback.

It's not like Johnson was badly damaged. He would have been fresh coming into the 4th, and as he said in the presser he was basically expecting it.

As for Alves, I really don't get the criticism here. He was pushing the pace and outlanding one of the most technical strikers in the game. He was less than a minute away from turning in a fairly one sided and impressive performance against one of the better fighters in the division. You also seem to be ignoring the fact that Kampmann has superb chokes and had it locked in before they even hit the ground.

I guess momentum means nothing to you. Barring a nutso finish like in the Alves fight, Creepy had that in the bag.

And I have no idea how you cannot criticize Alves. It was a choke job (lol) by him. Horrendous fight IQ. Horrendous submission defense. Terrible all around. He is no longer a contender. He's not had any good win over a top fighter in about four years now and is now 2-4 in his last 6 fights. Done as a contender. Borderline gatekeeper at this point. He needs to revitalize his career. Change camps or something.

That's just absurd, considering Johnson wasn't displaying any signs of being hurt or tired and he had arguably won the first 2 rounds. I won't even bother continuing on this front though.

He did choke by shooting the double, that's for sure. I was addressing your comments about him being a shell and tapping too soon, which is silly.

Wait, you don't think Thiago Alves is a shell of his former self?

He's not remotely similar to the old Thiago.
