Pred Lineup 2008-09 Season

thought it would be interesting to think of what the pred lineup COULD look like with current players and players in the system(and remembering everyone over 29 now will most likely be gone in 4 years)...i know it won't and that new players will be added through trades and new youngsters being drafted et.al....but i thought it might be interesting just looking at what we COULD look like with current prospects....lots of you guys are real experts on our prospects so help people visualize what we might look like ok?

(with age in 2008)

1)hartnell(26) at LW,legwand(28) at C,hall(28) at RW
2)erat(27) at LW,radulov(22) at C,shishkanov(25)at RW
3)gamache(27) at LW,pivko(28) at C,tootoo(25)at RW
4)yablonski(28)at LW,upshall(25) at C,segal(25) at RW
s)RW-brown(24),C-meidl(22)

d1)hamhuis(25),eaton(31)
d2)suter(23),klein(23)
d3)zidlicky(31),Weber(22)
s)hutchinson(28)

g)vokoun(32),finley(27)....lassila?(25)

could be a hugely talented offensive bunch, that would be the youngest team in the league, admittedly with maybe not enough size on the blueline, and maybe not enough toughness/size in the frontline, and still some question marks at the center position, and not enough wily old veterans in the mix,and possible questions in goal by then....

but still the future is bright if you're a pred fan...and i like to speculate or hear speculation from people that follow these guys closely,so help me out here in thinking what we might look like the year we win the cup

Well, I know that we would of course have some players from trades and a few more veterans, but for giggles:

erat-legwand-radulov
hartnell-gamache-shishkanov
pivko-hall-segal
yablonski-meidel-tootoo

suter-hamhuis
weber-eaton
klein-niskala

lassila
finley
mckenna??

With what's in the system now, and assuming that the draftees pan out to what we hope...(yeah, I know...too many if's) I'd like to see the following:

1. Upshall/Legwand/Radulov (Powerfwd, Playmaker, scorer )
2. Pivko/Meidl/Shishkanov (Would this line always be in a bad mood? )
3. Hartnell/Hall/Segal (Big grind line with scoring ability )
4. Some combo of Toots, Yablonski, Brown, Severson, Smithson
Extra Fwds: Gamache, Erat

I'll stick with what P303 has on Defense and in Goal...confident in knowing that there are many workable combos on D using those same players.

If Hartnell and Hall continue to develop scoring wise, we very well could have one of the best lines in Pred303's line one.

But he left off Smith in center again. And do you really think Pivko would be our center? Did he pull center duties last season for MIL?

How about:

Hartnell/Erat-Legwand-Hall
Pivko-Smith-Shishkanov (a scary line in the AHL... with time to work with each other, could be another scary line for NAS)
Erat/Gamache-Meidl-Segal/Radulov
Yablonski-Smithson(?)-Toots/Brown

I like the D:
Hamhuis-Eaton
Suter-Klein/Hutchinson (how is Klein offensively, a threat? More a stay at homer?)
Zidlicky-Weber

quartermaster,i like wyatt smith fine,it's just that he will be 31 then(2008) and you see how hard it is to fit in all these other younger, potentially higher upside type prospects in a potential lineup already....lol....

I was just joshing you, sir! But maybe put Upshall in for Smith... I just didn't think that Pivko was a centerman. That's all... not that Upshall is, but I have seen where they have tried him there. That's all I was saying!

hartnell-legwand-radulov
pivko-hall-shishkanov
erat-gamache/smitson-upshall
yablo-meidl-toots/segal

hamhuis/suter
eaton/weber
zids/klein
niskala as 7th dman

vokoun
lassila

Power Play lines
1] Radulov/legwand/shishkanov///zids/suter
2] Hartnell/Hall/Upshall///Weber/Hamhuis

Penalty Kill
1] legwand/erat or upshall///eaton/suter
2] Hall/shishkanov or Pivko///hamhuis/weber

Of all these, I think the PK looks weakest at the points.

Replace Upshall with Pivko and Segal with Hall and move Pivko with Miedl and you've got my lineup ... that first line is going to blow by any teams' defensemen... superfast

regardless of the players, its the uniform that is important ... whoever will be the coach, GM, players, etc, etc ... my biggest question ...

who will be in section 117, row p, seat 20?? (and will that 'unruly' bunch above and to my left still doing the "you s-ck" cheer when the opposing goalie lets one in?)

if you read this entire thread, you can see that the recurring theme is - this predator organization has one heckuva future ... remember how competitive we were last year with players as young as they are ... whenever we complain about hartnell, legwand, etc just remember they've barely started

PS - and did I mention that dan hamhuis is only ...
