Well. . .

I wouldve traded Gardiner, Kadri, Mac + 1st for Nash

People keep comparing Nash to Lindros/Neiwndyuk/Leetch/Nolan

But he's not comparable to these guys, because he's signed for long term, he's more consistent, he's much younger and he wants to be in Toronto.

Oh well, I'm glad we kept our 1st.

I also think Gardiner is HIGHLY overrated. I remember going through the same thing with Reimer and Schenn and many other players. Next year he may not be as good, and people will be screaming that we should trade him for a 2nd round pick.

There IS lots of depth.

We're chalk full of mediocre defenseman, our depth of that particular type of player is probably the best in the league.

If I were Wilson, getting booed outta my own building and having our own fans chant for me to be fired, I'm out, I resign. I collect my severance and look for another opportunity, that's humiliating.

Hmm. "Great depth on defense" ≠ "defense is our strength".

You can't argue we have a tonne of depth on the blueline. Doesn't mean it's the best part of the team.

If this thing bottoms out like I expect it too, he has no choice. Wilson should not survive as coach at the end of this season.

Nash isn't the answer.

This team just allowed 5 goals to the florida panthers in a must win game.

Wasn't about scoring more, its about keeping them out of our net.

Nash is a good summer option, but he wasn't the difference between making the playoffs this year or not.

Do these guys have any pride in playing for the Leafs?
Nope, quite clear. No fights for pride to get a momentum change, nothing. They're gone.

Big Blue baby!!!!

Leafs defensive structure or system, has been a problem for 4 years now. Players don't know what to do or defensemen keep giving up the puck, it's worrisome. I think we need a new coach or system before we can decide to cut loose Komi or Schenn.

Something, ANYTHING has to get the Leafs going. Maybe Dion should turn the stereo up louder?

I feel bad for Ron. Seems like a nice guy and he's obviously got history.

In my eyes there's 3 basic components to a team, the players, the coaching staff and the management. Can you honestly tell me that the coaching is the most important aspect of this trifecta? I think not. So why then is the coach the one taking most of the blame? We pulled this same crap with Quinn, and then we fired him and realized the problems ran much deeper than the coach. And now the same thing is happening again.

The problem is a) the personnel. Our offense is legit, but time and time again the defence has crapped the bed on the defensive side, and this is somehow Wilson's fault? He's supposed to be blamed for the brain-farts of Phaneuf, Schenn, Gardiner, etc? We've seen these guys make plenty of mistakes this year that have directly led to goals, and it's insane to think that somehow Wilson is to blame for this. I'm not even going to get into the goaltending because it's been pathetic this year save for some hot streaks from Gus. How is this Wilson's fault?

And then there's Burke, who claims he builds teams from the net out, yet again, goaltending has been Toskala-like all year. How is this Wilson's fault?

Wanna know why Burke hasn't fired Wilson? Because he knows Ron isn't to blame, and he'd rather take the blame himself than pass it onto his coach who deserves very little of it. The problems simply run way deeper than Ron Wilson.
