I would expect Montreal to pick a Quebecois first, not Yakupov, he can't speak french.

excellent user name btw

and I tend to agree on Nash, some of the brain dead proposals I've seen for him are just plain short-sighted. He is a complimentary star kind of guy, kind of like Hossa imco. His contract suits a real franchise type and Rick Nash just isnt that

And how exactly has Gomez been treated? The whole anniversary thing? Are you kidding me? Any player playing for any team performing the way he has and earning his salary would have some sort of a reaction by the fans.

Dumb or not...here is the reason why.

Montreal has nothing they are willing to give (Read Price, Subban, Patcioretty) that would be enough to pay for another top 5 or top 10 1st round pick.

Plekanec could net a #10-15 pick....but why MTL make any more deals for picks or prospects?

Yeah, wouldn't make much sense to the Habs since they would basically hope that #10-15 turns as good as Plekanec. Would have to get a great prospect along with the pick to entice the Habs, which then sounds like an overpayment for the other team.

In other words, not happening. Anyway, Plekanec is part of the core moving forward, who cares if he's in his late 20's? You win with guys like him in your line-up, not making teams like Washington or Chicago scary good pivoting their 2nd line.

A team with a top 5 ick is rebuilding though and would rather take the prospects

He is that good. The only reason hes not up there is that their is no assessment of him this year due to injury. He had a pretty bad knee injury so that also plays a factor.

Colombus needs yakupov. I really hope he doesn't go anywhere but there. The fans there deserve something to get excited about.

Why so he can toil there like Nash or Kovalchuk in Atlanta? CBJ needs a good management team. Fans deserve that. The amount of high picks squandered in the past 10 years by them is laughable.

MTL would pick Yakupov after winning the lotto
Columbus will pass on Grigorenko for Forberg/Dumba/Murray due to the Russian factor.
EDM takes Grigorenko.

Everyone is happy.

Plekanec + Diaz[OR]Weber + 1st 2013
the author of this post "wants" two out of the top five.

"wants" are very expensive my man.

pleckanec, subban, bourque, and 2013 first round pick.
thats as low as i go in this trade if i run long island.

just how bad do you/he realy want that second top five pick?

That's ridiculous. The Habs have had a recent history of selecting American players with their 1st round picks. Language doesn't play a part when it comes to draft picks.

Habs will likely select a centerman (Grigorenko / Galchenyuk) or a D-man (Rheinhart / Murray).
