If Stepanek wil keep on flopping like today, there may be hope for the eastern champion, whoever that will be....
I think there's still hope for the Eastern champion, after all the regular season was won by Traktor and now it seems like the final there could be Traktor vs Omsk, Traktor has Kuznetsov and 4 solid lines, Omsk has Cervenka and 4 solid lines... both have good goalies, probably better than Stepanek, both have better defense. Yeah SKA on attack is very dangerous but overall Omsk and Traktor and Dynamo Moscow have better defense so although SKA might seem a favourite, it may turn out that they're no favourite at all.
I thought that SKA is the favourite but yesterday I saw Traktor vs AK Bars and even if AK Bars might not be same as last year, man they have so much problems vs Traktor. The team is like a real Traktor, they just drive and drive and drive until you have no other chance than to give up. Very hard working team plus they have Kuznetsov who can create a goal out of nothing any moment.

Wow, watching the Dynamo game right now and I can't believe how good Anisin has got. He was good in Vityaz but now he seems to be unstoppable, he skates around defenders with ease. All game he has been making chances and has scored a really nice goal just right now. This guy reminds me of Bure in the offensive end, skilled and slippery. I think now that Radulov is gone, he is the best offensive threat in the KHL.

Was thinking the same thing. Anisin is just plain fun to watch... Was he 20 cm higher and 20 kg heavier, would he be better? I doubt so, and that's why I prefere KHL over NHL (ok, ok... it's off topic, but nevertheless....)
That's all folks! Kontiola's beautiful goal and then an empty netter means we'll have a brand new Gagarin Cup holder. TatNeft Arena is suddenly very very quiet.
My local team crashed out. Tractor were simply better. Kontiola scored on a beauty dangle freezing the netminder. And that Kuznetsov guy who added an e/netter he'a a real beast and a high flyer. Beware Canada.

Who knows, maybe he would be successful in the NHL.

they would just push him over the ice like a toy (did you see what happened to Radulov in his first game for Nashville? Well he scored, but he had, let's say "problems", with the Penguin's d-men... Hopefully he can adjust to the more physical play in the NHL.)
