With a tight race happening in the East for the last few playoff spots the New York Islanders went out and acquired Jarret Stoll from the Pittsburgh Penguins.
It is our hope that Stoll's faceoff ability and defensive acumen can help push this team over the top in our battle for the playoffs. We now have three solid lines that score and play defense and hope that our depth will carry us deep in our quest for the cup
Going the other way was Blake Comeau, Kyle Beach and $1,000,000.
"It was a steep price to pay for Jarret - we're giving up a good character guy in Blake and a solid prospect in Kyle" the Islander's GM was quoted as saying, "we wish them both well in Pittsburgh, but we felt that we have a chance to do some real damage this year and the experience and skill that Stoll brings was well worth the asking price"
