It's too bad Burke isn't allowed to make any roster changes between now and next season

1. When did we resign Grabo for $5 Mil?

2. Why do we have 5 lines?

nobody wants are players, especially the overpaid ones. any trade burke made, he had to take back equal or more cap hit. our young guys can go for picks.

In before you realize that rookie bonuses on cap hits likely won't be included next year, just like every other year except this one. That alone will alleviate salary issues of around $1,000,000. Not to mention Burke won't sign Grabovski for $5,000,000 per year, that's almost Kessel money.

Dont be shocked if Burke *gasp* makes a trade that alleviates cap room between now and October.

I wonder if we would win more games this season if we were allowed to roll 5 lines

I have no idea but Burke would likely be hard-pressed to give him anything beyond $4.5M

Well apparently there was interest in at least Armstrong at the trade deadline, so its not like money can't be moved out.

just trying to show how bad burke has managed his team, he should of got rid of the dead weight and the trade dead line, for 7th rounders, or pucks and pylons.

Fixing this isn't the most complicated thing in the world... just more difficult than it should be thanks to Brian Burke...

Step 1. Trade Komisarek in a worse deal than you would've gotten at the deadline.

Step 2. Consolidate Lombardi, MacArthur's, and possibly Armstrong's cap space into one player. (Rick Nash)

Step 3. Sign Grabovski, or another centre.

Step 4. 2 of Ashton/Frattin/Kadri start the year.

Depth Chart / Lines look something like this:

Nash-Bozak-Kessel
Lupul-Connolly-Kulemin
Ashton-Grabo/___-Frattin
Brown-Steckel-Armstrong

Phaneuf-Gunnarsson
Liles-Franson
Schenn-Gardiner
Holzer/Blacker battle for #7 spot.

There'd probably still be interest. Armstrong would be in the last year of his deal making him a UFA at the end of the year. Same goes for Lombardi, Mac, and Connolly. Impending UFAs tend to garner a lot of interest. Example: Ruutu
