I can't believe how much tickets have gone up since just a decade ago or so. My alma mater is still in it, after pulling the biggest upset in the state sections. Playing Roseville tonight but unfortunately I won't be able to make it at the Coliseum.
If they win and get to the section finals I will definitely be in attendance.
I graduated form Roseville, live in Duluth.
Needless to say I just want to beat Johnson and then go on to get slaughtered by Hill-Murray.
Also Johnson hasn't always been in our conference have they?
They're in the Tri Metro. The best teams in their conference are Blake and Breck. Blake is really, really good and have at least a couple D1 prospects. Johnson has a few kids that are going to the USHL next year and two that have D1 talent. Roseville is in the SEC (Suburban East Conference).
I so want to go tonight but just don't think I can make it.
In the same boat. Though, I generally go for the northern schools, then the more non-traditional teams, then the mainstays...
My former high school team likely won't be making an appearance any time soon. Especially since St. Thomas decided to start taking a different approach and recruit, all the while not having the clout to move up to AA.

I think everyone can agree on hating St. Thomas for continuing to play in A.

It's funny because back when I played (and we had to share our arena with them, mind you) we just used to pound them. It was one of those games where we sat the first line, call up a JV line, and play the back up. Then they get a new coaching staff and start bringing in kids from all over the metro area and because they're a private school, it's fine. Pretty obvious what's going on there and that's fine, but if they're going to go that route, feel free to play some higher level teams.
Meh, their new staff is chicken bleep if you ask me.
Yeah, that's a punk move on STA's part but I've heard quite a few of the privates recruit now. BSM, AHA, STA, HM, Blake, Breck, even Totino...Not sure how accurate that idea is but I wouldn't be surprised.

Grew up having the Vannellis as one of my coaches so I think they're great at what they do, but at a certain point STA needs to move up to AA.

I have heard that the coaches would like to move up to AA but the school wont let them. Might just be a convenient excuse, but i have heard it from multiple people.
My old high school seems to always lose to hibbing at some point in the conference tourny. Figures since I have tickets to every game thanks to the wifes family.
