Not sure who's in it, haven't been able to follow it this year due to me not being in the cities. As always though, since Apple Valley isn't there, I'll be cheering AGAINST teams such as Edina and Minnetonka.

Start hating now because you won't have much time. Skippers are down 5-1 to BSM.

My family has had tickets since 1975 for the MN Tourney. I took over the tickets in 1996, and it is absolutely amazing how much the tickets have gone up in price.
As far as schools to root for. I grew up in NW Wisconsin so I used to just cheer for the "underdog" teams. Especially loved cheering for the small schools from up north during the 1-Class tournaments.
I know the current coach and former players who played for Hill Murray, so for the last 10 years, I have cheered for them, but overall its usually the underdogs.
HATE Edina, B.Jefferson, and Eden Prairie.
I would say Moorhead is my sentimental favorite, just because of all their runner up finishes.

Almost as expensive as uppers at the X for a Wild game.
And my WCHA Final 5 tickets have gone up about 150% since the mid-90's. Absolutely crazy.
Wow. Yeah, well, if there's any silver lining to these exploding rates at least we can feel a bit good about the profits from the high school (regular season, sections and state) is that I believe a lot of it goes back into the MSHSL and the hockey teams that move along.
BTW, the Governors are down 2-0 to the Raiders now just about six minutes into the first.

Going to agree. Would love to see a St. Paul public school pull it off.
I'm going to be cheering against BSM. Not because I'm bitter about the Skippers losing, but because I can't stand heartwarming stories.
I want redemption from 4 years ago, beat Eden Prairie then Minnetonka at Mariucci when they had J. Gardiner but lost to that stacked Edina team in an epic OT game at the X. That team got 3rd but I think Pauly wants some revenge. So if heart warming doesn't do it for you how about a revenge story?

Only problem is there are really only a couple left (Como, Johnson, Highland) that I even know of. Harding, Humbolt/Highland/Central are no longer, and Johnson is in dire shape next year. Highland some how came back this year after a number of years hiatus and I think they only had one victory on the season. Central kids now play puck at Como as a co-op.
The last St. Paul public that really had a chance was Johnson's '95-'96 team with Progreba and Lyons and quite a few other great players.
Hurley is quite the talent. I played lacrosse with his older brother Ryan at AHA(who also won a hockey state championship). He went on to bring Cornell's lacrosse program back to a powerhouse and he is 2nd all time in goals there. Cullen was also talented as well. Talented family.
That was too bad to go out like that. You have to credit a team though that uses a 13 year old goalie and has no more than 20 or so going out for the club anymore annually. Love you Johnson and I hope some how some way there are a few youngsters coming up in the community that may some day recapture the old Gov glory.
