Sacramento Sharks Fans Unite

I've noticed we have a decent number of Sharks fans in the Sacramento area, and I also saw mention of watching Sharks at a bar. So I would propose we get some of us together at a local alcohol dispensary and watch a game. First appetizer is on me. Could be fun, I watch the games at home with the same 3-4 people, so it'd be nice to chat Sharks with some others.

I'm not sure about everyone else, but a weekend game would be best for me (especially if alcohol is involved!). Also, I don't really go to bars to watch sports, so I wouldn't know where to go, although I did watch part of a Sharks game at Hoppy Brewing once.

Here's the remaining schedule (weekend games in bold).

THU MAR 1, 2012 SABRES SHARKS 7:30 PM
SAT MAR 3, 2012 BLUES SHARKS 7:30 PM
TUE MAR 6, 2012 OILERS SHARKS 7:30 PM
THU MAR 8, 2012 SHARKS STARS 5:30 PM
SAT MAR 10, 2012 SHARKS COYOTES 5:00 PM
MON MAR 12, 2012 SHARKS OILERS 6:30 PM
TUE MAR 13, 2012 SHARKS FLAMES6:30 PM
THU MAR 15, 2012 PREDATORS SHARKS 7:30 PM
SAT MAR 17, 2012 RED WINGS SHARKS 7:30 PM
MON MAR 19, 2012 DUCKS SHARKS 7:00 PM
TUE MAR 20, 2012 SHARKS KINGS 7:30 PM
THU MAR 22, 2012 BRUINS SHARKS 7:30 PM
SAT MAR 24, 2012 COYOTES SHARKS 7:00 PM
MON MAR 26, 2012 AVALANCHE SHARKS 7:30 PM
WED MAR 28, 2012 SHARKS DUCKS 7:00 PM
THU MAR 29, 2012 SHARKS COYOTES 7:00 PM
SAT MAR 31, 2013 STARS SHARKS 7:30 PM
TUE APR 3, 2012 SHARKS STARS 5:30 PM
THU APR 5, 2012 SHARKS KINGS 7:30 PM
SAT APR 7, 2012 KING SHARKS 7:30 PM

For me, March 3rd and 31st are out, I'm going to those games. 17th might be a bit crazy being St. Pattys day and all, but maybe even more fun.

I no longer live in that area, but when I went to school at UC Davis, there was actually a pretty amount of Sharks fans that would go to The Graduate and watch on their 100"+ projection screen.

Unfortunately I work weekends (lame) so I wouldn't be able to meet up then. But I like the idea.

This is still the case! The atmosphere gets even more cool come playoff time.

I may skip the Bay Area meet up and go to the Sac one. I'm the only one that matters so, unfortunately, everyone will come to the Sac one instead. Even though Sac is a horrible city.

Alright, if people want to throw out suggestions for bars or location... East Sac, Midtown, Land Park, Carmichael? We can figure a place out and set up an official date.

When I went to UCD I watched several games at the Grad as well. It helped that I lived in the apartments right behind it.

I'm not even sure if Sacramento's Airport could be considered international.

If the bay area one somehow convinces Les to go we win the Sharks meetup trophy. Easily.

But we are located 1/2 way between Tahoe and the Bay Area! Sacramento's claim to fame. I might be down for this.

We should also make sure there isn't a Kings game that night. Not that there are a ton of Kings fans but I'm thinking it will just be that much harder to find a place that would be willing to turn on a hockey game in place of the Kings game...

I did a quick Google search to refresh my memory of what's available and this place popped up called Alley Katz on O Street. I've never even heard of it but it seems to be pretty spacious inside.

There's also MVP's on L Street. A friend of mine would go there for football games every week during the season, likes it a lot.

Any other ideas?

That would be pretty awesome... I just registered to come post on this specific thread. Ha. There is a place in Elk Grove called Coaches that has some nice screens, happy hour pretty much all day, etc.

Award for what? Most talked about shots on goal during a game?

For a trophy to be awarded shouldn't there be some sort of contest? Like everyone meeting at the same place, splitting up into Bay Area or Sacramento teams and then having some Sharks trivia? Or Beerfest style drinking games?

Oh and if this gets planned far enough in advance I might be able to get the night off work.
