2012 NHL Playoff Race

This is something that I've done for years over on the official boards, and I figured I'd do it over here now that I've become a part of this community. Even though our playoff hopes are thin, I'm sure everyone is still interested to see who will make the playoffs. This page will keep you up-to-date on who's sitting pretty and who's on the outside looking in. I'll update it every night (definitely after all the night's games are completed, but possibly an extra update before that in between 10PM-11PM to reflect the early games, depending on if I'm home or not), with more frequent updates coming once we get to the final week of the season. Hope you fine folks see this to be useful!

P.S. If Anton Cooper or DaveG see fit, a pin would be nice so everyone can keep track.

Interesting that Buffalo and Carolina have the most away games left on their schedule. It will be a very tough hill to climb, but I don't doubt their ability to do it with their recent play and the impending returns of LaRose, Ruutu and Pitkanen.

Read the title and immediately thought "DELETE THIS THREAD."

This is the CANES forum, the playoff race has NOTHING to do with the Canes.

I just really hope the Sharks get in so I don't have to totally have an unbias view.

I almost want them to face the wings cause they own them in the postseason.

In the east, I think Rangers/Bruins conference final is highly likely.

Depending on the match-ups, I could see the Bruins primed for a first-round upset and I really hope it happens.

I only really like the Sens matched up against the bruins as far as that goes...The speed they have really does well against the B's.

The Bruins haven't won consecutive games since mid-January, so yeah... they're pretty prime in a 7-game series.

The other side of the coin is that good teams don't usually go much longer than this without snapping out of it. They're slumping at the right time.

They've had so key injuries as of late.. I think they'll turn it around, but I don't think they're unbeatable.. It's just I don't like many east teams... Rangers, Bruins and Pens... then it's the rest with shaky goaltending, young or key holes
