Look, yes there are possibilities. There are options. After 19 seasons with two playoff wins, I will reserve judgement on the Redskins until I see results on the field. No more great offseasons....or at this point, potential great offseasons. Snyder is still running this team, no matter how quiet he's been, and I like others here have little faith as long as he's in charge. We'll see how silent he is if the team doesn't show definite progress this year. You don't think he sees Detroit go from winless to a playoff team in 3 years, among other examples? With his fan base shrinking yearly?
The points about Shanahan are valid. You all don't like them brung up cause it rains on this parade. There are valid questions as to why he was fired from Denver, and why he hasn't been able to win in over a decade. Granted the team has a long way to go in terms of talent, but they should have been better than 5-11. They found ways to lose games they should have won. Posts about him here border on the ridiculous sometimes...like he's going to snap his fingers or wave a wand and suddenly they'll be a contender. It doesn't work that way, and he's botched numerous times the QB position. He talks about a clean program but does nothing to discipline his players who seem to be addicted to bong hits. They were obviously not prepared to play numerous times. He had given plenty of reasons for doubt.
The draft last year was decent...I don't see it as being the blockbuster people made it out to be. Who knows what will happen this year. If they go after RGIII they'll lose plenty of those picks. Manning? He's a major risk. The cap room is nice, if it's spent wisely. Hey if all these things come together and the team shows legitimate signs of improvement, I'll be one of the first to be happy. But I need to see good results, no more maybe this will happen or them winning the offseason championship. Comments like Shanahan's only make me more skeptical. Anyone who thought that offense was playoff-caliber is nuts.
LOL, I agree. That offense wasnt even BCS worthy, much less NFL playoff worthy.
But there really arent many posters that think he can wave a wand. In fact, none that I have seen. some think more of Shanny/Allen than others, but its not the kool-aid drinking that GMGM gets thrown his direction, if you want to use Caps/BB as an example.
sure, people shat on BB, and loved Shanny. Just as some love McPhee. Shanny/Allen have accomplished a LOT more than McPhee ever has even if it was 15 years ago, but many stick up for GMGM no matter what.
Who here sucks Shanny's nuts to no end? You pound on Shanny more than any one poster sticks up for him, thats for sure.
It sucks that I am more excited for the next 2 months for the Redskins than I am for the Capitals
Surprised that Cleveland was aggressive as they reportedly were. Provided they're smart in free agency, maybe the offense will begin to have a positive identity. It's just the beginning...plus they need to figure out what they're going to do at ILB/SS.

Rams got paid. Manning must have quickly said "F off" to Shanahan, after he read that Shanahan thought he had a playoff calibre offense here last year.
I'm stunned, happy, and disgusted at the price....all at once.

George McPhee....The Teflon GM. 15 years of failure and counting....
6 - Number of playoff series the Capitals have won since George McPhee took over as General Manager in 1997 (which makes him the third-longest-tenured GM in the League), three of which came in McPhee's first season on the job.
If RG3 doesn't pan out, this franchise will take a decade to rebuild. Only perk I guess to that is Snyder may have to give up control.
Personally, I'm not buying the RG3 hype. Very, very talented but he's not Cam Newton.
Cam is 6'5 250.
RG3 is 6'2 220
That difference alone is how Cam can run so frequently.
That's not necessarily a bad thing. I see RGIII more as Steve McNair, he prefers to air it out rather than tuck it and run. He's also much further along mentally.

Before Redskins-Rams deal, Browns tried to make last-minute push to make trade for second overall pick. By then, too late.
