Shut him down. Bring up Taffe and lets start guaranteeing a top-3 pick.

Watching Stoner as he's gotten back in game shape reminds me why I like him so much - big hits, strong on his skates, pretty good getting the puck out of danger. I really hope the Wild retain his services.

Me too. When healthy he's a great bottom pairing dman to have. He shouldn't cost too much and compared to most of this roster he brings valuable veteran predence

They say the Canucks vs. Wild game last week was boring, and yet who had more shots?

I thought our game vs the flames this week was a lot more boring honestly.

I think I was literally falling asleep during it?

I love it how "people" in that thread consider MIN-STL match-up "abysmal". They obviously haven't done any research on the subject, or they would know that those have been really intense and good hockey games this year.

Our first few games against St. Louis were awesome this year, before the collapse. After the collapse the games were still good, but not great.

Also, St. Louis is where Koivu got part of his shoulder injury, so screw those jerks.

True.

I'll still be in their bandwagon come playoffs. I always had a soft spot for them, partly because my hometown team is Espoo Blues and partly because... Al ****ing MacInnis, really.

Still, Wild will always be my #1.

After the Koivu thing and the way they shut down the Sharks in one game, I have eliminated the Blues from my potential bandwagon destinations in April.

The way things are going I will have surprisingly few teams I do not hate in the playoffs this year. Depressing.

If this team tanks enough to pick 2nd overall it will be the best thing to happen to us since December 13th, everything since then has been one ****ing ride downhill after another. getting a shot at an elite talent would be nice. Now i'm not saying we quit trying, as much as it sucks it at least nice to see the guys trying to win, tho days like this where they give it their all and lose are what we need.

I think the trades we made were quite good, barring maybe the Schultz one (I would've preferred someone else than BNTG...).

Aside from that, everything else has been crappy.

hey **** you BNTG is awesome.

sorry about the **** you

but yeah Gilbert and Kampfer have been nice additions, this team was done for when they lost the forwards, the trades were more for next year. I do like our future i just wish our present would end soon.

Gilbert and Kampfer were good additions but yeah definitely geared more towards next year than this year. The Schultz trade completely gutted the locker room and I think GMCF had to know that was going to be the effect when he pulled the trigger on it. I'm pretty sure at least part of that trade was to be a message to the players to the effect of "Slack off like this next year and no one is safe".

i can't tell if BNTG has looked good simply because the rest of our D is so bad or because we actually look better than Edmonton. Thought he was horrible in Eddy. So far he's been my favorite D since his second game.

I realize we're fans of the team, but if you weren't, would you want to watch a team with Kyle Brodziak and Nick Johnson on the top line? It's not even a system thing, it's lack of talent.

The bits I've caught he's looked very good, much more comfortable, and better overall than pretty much anyone else not named Burns or Johnsson in recent memory.

BNTG just seems like he fits. Yeah he makes mistakes, yeah he's not a true #1 defenseman or even top pairing on a high end team, but he knows his role and he fills it. He doesn't seem worried about covering for anyone else or doing too much. The same sort of play makes Spurgeon look good. He comes to the ice, does his job, covers for his teammates if it doesn't sacrifice his own play, and that's it. Until we can find some high end talent to put on the blue line, that's exactly the kind of guy you want back there.

Granted, I've watched very little of the Wild of late. And really, I'm not the biggest fan of Gilbert. However, getting him for Schultz? Ya, do that deal every single time. He'll be an asset down the line if the Wild can ever get that blue line straightened out and find/develop a true top pairing guy.

Don't care if the Schultz trade sent waves through the room. In fact, that was probably the point. Who cares if it upsets a team comprised of so many players who won't be there in two years?

My favorite part of this trade? Watching the clowns from HW fall all over themselves trying to find and point out Gilbert mistakes because they're soooo bitter about losing such an inconsequential player. What an embarrassing year for that blog, all told.

Amen to that...I mean obviously they seem like good enough people but for the most part the rationality has been thrown out the window in certain cases.

I really hope FRB keeps getting more and more attention (and deservedly so).
