It would not surprise me if we played so bad this year we wrecked a good coach.
It can't be easy for him to go from having the team playing just like he wants to playing just beyond awful hockey and not responding to what he says or does.

That's my fear too. I'm hoping he's given a fair opportunity, but the way these dip#$@! on ice are quitting, who knows what will happen. It's not fair to assess him right now, since they refuse to respond to anybody with authority. JL wouldn't even be able to get through to these pathetic excuses for hockey players. Someone explain to me again why they get guaranteed money for not showing up to work?
And yeah, I hate that they are all getting paid for not showing up at this point. I'm so disgusted with this team that I dont know if I will be able to bring myself to watch them for much longer.
If for some reason Yeo actually gets fired, and I dont see why he would considering even Richards got two years, I would pretty much feel happy for him not having to come to work and deal with these bags of fail every day.
There's absolutely no chances Yeo is gone by the end of the season. It's just his first ever season as NHL head coach and he's doing well IMO. The players, not so much..
Also, I'm pretty sure GMCF is smart enough to know it.
i think its clear we lack players with both Leadership & talent. Without koivu, theres a clear gap between players being able to lead on the ice instead of just off the ice.
If you add pieces like suter, and parise, and get back bouchard, or lats, or both. plus keep other good lockeroom leaders like brodziak/cullen/powe this team becomes really dangerous. Even with injuries we'll have most of our best prospects in call ups notice.

That's a huuuuuuge if. The only thing we could maybe offer them is a chance to play together. After that, we blend in or fall below 15-20 other teams.

oh i know its quite the stretch, but for sake of proving my point i decided to include both of them considering ones a captain, and the other could be captain for his.
It's not out of the realm of possibility to sign one of them
When Brian Campbell signed with the Blackhawks they hadn't made the playoffs in 5 seasons.
makes me curious to see how players like larsson come prepared to wild camp next season. I would like to see him try to assert himself in that role.
im somewhat passive on granlund being that type of player. i see him coming onto this team trying to play for mikko, not for the minnesota wild who view him as that type of franchise player in the future.
I know it's hard to do with the salary cap and the active roster limit and all that jazz, but what I'd like Yeo to do is say to the kids "hey, you play my system, you work hard, you have some passion, and I guarantee you'll be playing in the NHL this year."
Right now, we are really paying for the fact that Sheppard should be our 2nd line center, Pouliot should be in the top 6 and Cuma should be in the top 4. All these guys are 22-24 years old, and should be key contributors during these years. You don't have 5 bad 1st rounds without suffering an organizational setback.

And Gillies should be 3rd line LW with Clutterbuck on RW and Brodziak playing C.
I think both GMCF and Yeo know without Lats, PMB, and Koivu that this is the worst team in the league. Hell, even with Koivu, we'd be damn close.
Yeo can't really sound too preachy either or he could lose the trust factor with lots of players. He's gotta just go through the motions and get this damn season over with. With a few (hopefully) prospects here next year and some competition to play with the Wild, hopefully all will be forgotten.
