Fire Wilson at the end of the season. For now, let the tank roll on, no need to bring a new guy into this mess. Bite the bullet now, fresh start next year with a new coach.

Well anything can happen, but he seems like he would be a good fit for the team.

Anything is better than Wilson at this point though, I mean 1 win in 11 games during the most important stretch of the season...come on.

We're not getting the cup this year if RW is fired.

Calder, that is.

Jokes aside, I don't think RW is THAT bad and I think the players have to take more responsibility for being so putrid recently, but I can't imagine any coach in any other team in the league getting this much lee-way before getting the axe.

Berger must have been talking to himself in the press box, that's where all the buzz is coming from...

Bob McKenzie mentioned this on TSN right after the game, too. It's not just Berger. That said, Bob also noted that he thought the firing would only take place if the Leafs didn't show up again tonight, and he thought that they did. LOL Yeah, the three goals in three minutes or whatever it was sure showed a lot of fight. As did that beauty play by Neon on the empty netter to seal it.

I still remember when we got Dion, Calgary fans were coming over lol'ing saying have fun when he gets caught pinching or beat around the outside or shoots the puck high and wide or off peoples shins without reason.

Was Brian Burke really at a speaking event instead of watching HIS team fight for its playoff life?

Why don't you find out yourself... you seem to have plenty of free time on your hands.

Make it happen!

I don't think there's ever been a coach this hated before in Toronto. Not in my life-time anyway..

I Want Jim Mora or Dallas Eakins. Both are fine and equivalent.

Leafs lose in Chicago, with a better effort. By the way, Burke not with the team. He is speaking at charity event in Boston tonight.

charity events are booked months in advance, plus its charity. What exactly does Burke need to be doing in Chicago, holding their hands? Hes said before he rarely if ever talks to the players so why would he being there matter? lol.

This is how I feel regarding the matter.

I want Wilson gone, yes, but I see no purpose in getting rid of him this close to the end of the season. Let him close it out, and hopefully Burke makes the right move and gives another coach a chance with these players.

This .

The blame either lies with Burke or Wilson . One of them has to take the fall for this abortion of a season .

Somebody needs to take responsibility for this mess.

Coaches get fired all the time for a team's poor performance. This really isn't that big of a deal. I couldn't care less if Ronnie gets fired tomorrow.

Something needs to happen for sure, this officially isn't just a slump. We have gone from what 80% math chance to 10% of making the playoffs, one more loss to being a bottom 5 NHL team... That's huge.

There really are only 3 scenarios in my opinion.

1. Wilson finishes out the year, is replaced by Eakins for next season.
2. Wilson is fired now, Carlyle is hired.
3. Wilson is fired now, Gordon takes over as interim head coach for rest of year. New coach hired in offseason.

I don't even want to consider Wilson staying on for next year as a 4th possibility. He is a good coach, he took USA to the gold medal game. He just hasn't been able to do anything positive in his time here.

If Phanuef were moved back to the left side and used as a defensive #3 D I think his game would turn around completely. Playing on the opposite D position removes his ability to use his stick to stop players from darting around him. Unfortunately his salary forces him into that pinching fourth man role at the expense of our defensive hockey. At 25+ minutes a night we can't allow that weak link to exist.

Once we actually establish a defensive style a pairing of Phaneuf/Schenn will be deadly and can be used as a rugged shutdown pair.
