Risers and fallers. Grigo may be the big faller according to this article.
Quote:
"He's a dog. Take a look at what games Grigorenko gets his points. He gets a handful the other night against PEI. none at Moncton, and one assist (in the nationally televised game) in Saint John. A couple of weeks ago in Rimouski he's minus 6. He scares the (crap) out of me."
Buffalo, Anaheim and TB are all 1 point behind us. I think we should be able to solidify ourselves in the bottom 6.
Yep, don't wanna jinx it, but with Wilson in charge, we're easily ending up in the bottom 5; Carolina and NYI have a game in hand only 4 points behind. It's too bad no one comes close to catching Columbus. Man would I like to revisit this post and be wrong come April. I could see it being Montreal winning the lottery with CLB and EDM 2,3, us vaulting to 4th.
I had not even considered Galchenyuk given the Leafs play for most of the season, but he was one of my favourites heading into the year.
Really impressive in the handful of games I saw him play last year. Honestly, he stood out to me more than Yakupov in the games I saw.
Leafs would have a real player on their hands if they snagged him. I'd be even pushing for them to move up to take him. I'd like to see how he responds from his injury, but if there are no ill-effects, Leafs need to target him.
I have a feeling the Leafs will need to be in the bottom 3 - 5 to get this kid. Word is he'll be returning from injury before the end of the season, so if he lights it up there should be no concern of regression from scouts.
He's going to be good. Not just good, but VERY GOOD. There will be no question whether or not he's the pick, if he's on the board when Burke hits the podium.
We will FINALLY have our #1
Edit: Faksa couldn't hold Gally's jock, not by a longshot. And if you factor in the intangibles, he blows Grigorenko outta the water.

people need to read this link. if grigo does fall, galchenyuk could be a very high pick
also the hot item is Faksa. another centre prospect.
I dont put a lot of stock into that article, really. Its taking into account "the last couple weeks" in a lot of cases when it should be looking over the kids careers and development.
Yeah our only hope really is that teams picking higher will want defensemen like Dumba or Murray. I know all teams say they "pick the best player available", but a team like Edmonton would be crazy to pick another forward.
Seems like playing in your draft year is almost the worst thing you can do for your draft stock. Grigorenko has 79 in 52 and he's gonna fall out of the top 5 to some people? Galchenyuk who hasn't played a game this year "should" be safely slotted in the top 3.
Trouba isn't top 5 either now...
Just seems like the guys that are hurt can't hurt their stock by scoring points against weak teams or whatever the knock on Grigorenko is...
Also, what the hell happened to Frk this year? I don't watch anything in the Q, but he's fallen off the map.
