okay, was watching a bit of the Senators game and they talked about 4 rules adjustments.
If anybody has a good explanation, I'd love it.
1. interference--allow you a half second to bump somebody without the puck? seems a little subjective...
2. slashing--- calling more of it? not just the hands? again, seems a little subjective
3. covering the puck with your hand.... i get that.
4. winning a faceoff with your hands is apparently now a penalty.
It's the interference and the slashing, I don't get the adjustment, I guess.
IMO slashing and interference have always been subjective. Players have largely been allowed to make contact immediately after a puck carrier has gotten rid of the puck. Slashing... well... I think we've all seen our fair share of stick penalties called when they shouldn't have been or not called when they should have been.
Who would've predicted the Blues to **** the Wings 6-0? I hope they are worn out for monday's game against us.
I was a bit confused by that until I realized that when you said "they" you were referring to St. Louis.
That'll also be an interesting one. Good luck!

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
Some very high scoring games today, is that mostly due to defense/goalies being unprepared?
Maybe. One might hypothesize blueline issues in the case of Detroit and Vancouver, given their significant changes on D - and in both cases the goaltender was eventually pulled. And while I didn't see the whole games, going from highlights Ward and Pavelec were... not exactly lighting the world on fire. Quick sounded like he was way off his game today (ask BFC about that one; he and I split the LA/CHI and PHI/PIT games and texted eachother updates).
I assume this isn't going to be the norm, at least. (Although in the case of Detroit I really, really hope it is. )
I don't want to come off as bitter, but I had a big smile on my face when Luongo had to come in for Schneider.
I've been telling the canucks fans I know that trading Luongo would be a huge mistake
If you look at the games Schneider has played, about 2/3 to 3/4 of them are against non-playoff teams. It says a lot when you aren't getting the matches against the top teams.
Carlo Coliacavo got injured for Wings last night. Rumors are they are going to sign another depth guy today to take his spot.
Man, I am so glad we got Hannan over glass-man. I actually say a Blues fan suggest he is a hypochondriac and assumes he has injuries that aren't there.
I know some don't want me bringing up this name again, but holy cow, tootoo just demolished someone on the stars. Borderline charging, but it was clean.

Yep,their team is just decimated by injuries already
