2011-2012 Rangers Magic Number Thread (We Did It!)
Since Mayor Bee remembered to do his annual Magic Number thread on the main boards (which I wanted to do this year), I decided I'll do one here, but instead, I'm only concentrating on the Rangers.
I am now using tiebreakers. Also, I'm assuming that all even amount of points we get are won in regulation or overtime.

Since it's early, I won't be using tiebreakers yet. What I will do to make up for it is automatically give the other team the tiebreaker and make us require one more point to clinch any spot.

For what it's worth, they only need 27 more points to break franchise record for most points in a season. 13 more wins would also break the wins record.
It doesn't mean much, but always cool to set a record for a franchise thats been around for almost a century.
I usually made this thread the past few years . Nice to have one where it's not the fight for 8th place.
Yeah, I remember putting the standings on a dry erase board for the final stretch run each season and for many years we were below the line trying to sneak in. This is a lot more enjoyable. lol
Shouldn't Washington (69 pts in 63 games) be ahead of Winnipeg (70pt in 66 games) on this list. Their top total points is higher than that of Winnipeg, thus we need to equal their top total in points probable to clinch a playoff spot.
