Will the Leafs finish above the Habs?!?!?

Before this season started, I made a bet with a guy at work that the leafs would finish above the habs in the standings this year...

Things looked like they were all locked up a month ago; I had the money spent...we were making the playoffs AND I was winning some cash.

Halfway through the month it started to look like we might not be making the playoffs...Now it is starting to look like the habs might catch us.

What do you think??? Should I go spend the money...or should I start saving my nickels and dimes...Can't believe this collapse.

(leafs are 5 points ahead of the habs with a game in hand...since we don't win on saturday nights that will be down to 3 points by sunday morning)

Spend the money and go double or nothing next year.
The world ends 2012 so it won't matter what happens next season.

If you lose don't pay him. He's a Habs fan.

If we beat them in regulation tomorrow, I say we finish ahead of them almost for sure, we'd be 7 points up with a game in hand, which is a lot at this time of the year. If we lose in regulation, it could go either way, the last game of the season (also Leafs/Habs) could be a high stakes one for you!

In my wildest dreams we would finish behind every team at this point. But life as it is, we might finish lower than them and still pick a bust while they draft a superstar

Agree. This current slump is a blessing in disguise if the right player is picked to become a cornerstone of the leafs.

I hate the Habs and love finishing ahead of them and this year drafting ahead of them would be great!

Must lose tomorrow. I hate losing to the habs but at this point I'd take a loss.

Habs fan here.

I made a similar bet with a Leafs buddy of mine down here in Australia. We live in Brisbane and always talk hockey to keep ourselves canadian!

I made the (drunken) bet with him right after then Leafs really good start, like 10ish or so games into the season. Habs were doing terrible at the time too.

I gave him 2 to 1 odds on a $20 dollar bet that the habs would finish ahead of the Leafs. I really thought the habs would make the playoffs!!

Now I can't decided if I want the Habs to have a better draft pick and fork over $40 or pick 1 spot later and make $20!!

What a cunundrum!

You probably read it too quickly. See the bold part.

I sincerely hope the Leafs finish ahead of the Habs...

Not sure we need a thread for "will we finish above team X".. why not have 28 other ones too? Closed.
