Renney's press conference today

Just bringing it to the forefront because I enjoyed listening to it.

I did like they way he addressed the poor reffing with regards to the kids.

He is a very smart guy, would make a good assistant coach. I just dont think he has it in him to lead a championship team.

I'm hoping it's not longer than 19 more games.

I see him for this year, and at least part of next year. How long he's around next year will depend on how the team's record.

Ditto...time for new blood. No more recycled fossils.

I want Nelson.

I dont think there is any chance that the Oilers would fire a coach mid-season.

There will be better coaches available this offseason. I hope the Oilers grab one, or else promote Nelson.

Renney will be given at least a 2 year extension at the end of the season.

Whoever edited the audio on the clip sucks frankly. You can barely hear Tom and the questions blow up your speakers. Yikes.

Thanks for posting that. Despite the bad audio the portion on the officiating was very interesting.

Thanks for posting that. Brings real insight and humanity to the decisions made by Renney.

I'm still unsure he's going to be the right coach for this team once it's ready to compete, but he definitely seems like the right guy for the job right now.

I agree with this.
The fact that he is so unpopular with most fans almost validates that take.

Petrell with Nuge and Ebs is just ridiculous. He gets some lucky goals; petrell cannot shoot for **** as far as I've seen, nor can he make a play.

He doesn't have to. He just has to get the puck and pass it. Go to the net. Create room.and watch magic

I can't remember seeing Petrell making a pass in the offensive zone, except maybe along the boards. Why not Eager? I'd say he's more skilled than Petrell.

Magnus Paajarvi - Drafted 10th overall by the Oilers, playing well recently.

Games played with RNH/Eberle - 0

What do the Oilers have left to play for - Nothing.

Who gets to play with RNH/Eberle - Petrell.

Awesome.

Petrell can shoot the puck pretty well actually, it's the rest of his offensive game that lacks, not his shot.

Being that you want to slot magnus with two of our best players is almost equally mysterious to some of the line configurations that have gone on. Petrell has a better shot than MPS. Oh, BBO got that already..

Who would you put instead? Smyth, horcoff and belanger are anchors that suck all the playmaking and chemistry from the other top 6 players. Smyth cannot handle top 6 minutes.

Yeah we wouldn't possibly want to get the kid going. We can afford to throw away 1st round picks like candy, because it's not like we're in a rebuild or something.

More MPS + Belanger, Renney. That's the ticket to success.

Actually now that I remember MPS did actually get ONE shift with RNH + Eberle this season and I remember they almost scored. And then Renney never put them together again after that, lol. Awesome player development.
