Lawrie says he felt something wasn't right halfway between 3rd & home as he scored in the 2nd. Light strain, nothing serious #bluejays

Not a big deal. You can bet Lawrie will suffer a fair share of injuries in his career with the way he plays.

This is true. 2.5m is a pretty penny and can pay for 4 years worth of tuition and then some.

You can always go to school, but you cant always play pro ball. He said himself that money was the issue. He wouldnt come to Toronto (small/canadian market) unless we significantly overpayed. Considering we only had 10m to sign our picks in the first 10 rounds.

He could but he can always go back to school. Aside the guaranteed 2.5M he would have received, he would get his tuition paid by the Jays if his career doesn't work out.

But if his arm blows out or something, he doesn't get that and would be working his whole life to earn that much money.

It's way better to go to school when you are younger 18-19 than in your mid 20's.

Depends on what your expectations are.

It's Spring Training so everything has to be taken with a grain of salt. Still, it's better having a losing record.

Even then, I could care less what our record is. What I've been impressed by is the performance of the prospects. Guys like Gose, Cooper, etc haven't been flashy, but they've got a couple hits, and an rbi here or there. Just getting the job done. Very excited about the depth in the system for years to come.

Yahoo has always been my favorite. I could set one up for people in here. PM me if interested. If there's enough people, I will make one.

It's a lot better to become a millionaire at the age of 18 and have a chance to make it to the big leagues and if not get to play professional baseball, and if things don't work out you get your school paid for than to be 22 and have graduated and not be close to being a millionaire.

I really like that Chad Jenkins has had a strong spring. I know it goes without saying but man we are loaded with young big-time potential arms.

And finally tomorrow the games will be on MLB.TV!

Evan Crawford and Joel Carreno moved to the minor league camp.

I'm sure we'll see both again later this year if injuries mount.

Do you think lucas giolito will fall to us in this year's draft? the kid seems to be an amazing pitcher. we're picking 17th overall, and the kid is projected to go in the top 10. it'd be awesome if we can get him.

Crawford had a solid camp. A real under the radar prospect for us.

Those rankings will likely change considerably through the season. If he regresses this year/ gets injured etc. There will be player movement for sure and salary demands will change it even more. I just noticed he's ranked 6th. Who knows but I wouldn't bank on it. Also just read the little breakdown on him. Very interesting. I'm hoping we go after positional players early this year though. We have pitching depth we just need some more depth in the field IMO. Carlos Carrea has AA written all over him but being a high schooler he may be to tough a sign for us to pick. Nick Williams looks like a big gamble that could be worth it with the Beede pic if he's still on the board and signable. I'm very interested to see how this draft plays out.

Yeah yeah its only spring. But this is what our starting lineup has done so far

Escobar: .250/.333/.333
Johnson: .217/.308/.304, 2 SB
Bautista: .368/.458/.789, 2 HR
Lind: .286/.375/.381
Encarnacion: .296/.345/.593, 2 HR
Rasmus: .227/.333/.318
Lawrie: .609/.625/.957, 5 SB
Thames: .320/.370/.590, HR
Arencibia: .227/.261/.545, 2 HR
Snider: .333/.375/.833, 4 HR, SB

Romero: 9 IP, 0.00 ERA, 0.44 WHIP
Morrow: 5 IP, 0.00 ERA, 0.40 WHIP
Alvarez: 6 IP, 3.00 ERA, 1.17 WHIP
Cecil: 6 IP, 0.00 ERA, 0.83 WHIP
McGowan: 5 IP, 0.00 ERA, 0.80 WHIP

In 31 innings, our projected starting rotation has given up two runs. And that's been for the most part against a B+/A lineup.

It's a very good point and I think they will explore trading Fransisco. It's just a matter of finding a home for him.

Giolito is injured. He has an elbow sprain, I believe, with the rehab being 6-10 weeks or something like that.
