Maybe Grigo or Yapukov?

You've been pimping him the longest WS. You should get props when he makes it to the nhl for seeing that potential.

I was sooooooooooooooo impressed with him in the pre-season. I just love his style of D-men.

It started for me just as a gut feeling in his draft year. I just liked the way he was handling himself out there. How he "looked" like a player. Then, you go technical and see that there's a lot of tangibles already present. And you saw some offensive underrated skills as well. He's never going to be a Karlsson, but he will put some points on the board. But will most likely be known to be a rock defensively.

His calmness and poise on the ice is just very high for his age. He's not a star, but he's still has this presence on the ice because he looks like a vet. He just never looks like the game bothers him.

Well deserved, this guys deserved an invite to team canada camp.

Huge props to WS again, who saw his offensive potential.

Been a fan of Ellis since we drafted him, he was always underrated amongst the prospects, and then once he gets traded to a good team and starts putting more points on the board, he gets recognition.

One thing I'll always remember is Patrick Roy saying that he was one of the 3 steadiest D in the 'Q, with Beaulieu and Gormley.

Ellis is probably the first drafted defenseman in a long time (like, back to Komisarek or something) other than PK and Beaulieu (and including Tinordi) that I've felt similarly comfortable "predicting" to be an NHLer. Have seen a LOT of this guy, and if he can start elevating his game a bit more in important games, he's gonna be a real good'er. Still not sure how high he'll ever slot into an NHL 6 man depth chart, but great 4th round steal, imo.

From what I've heard/seen, Roman Hamrlik in his prime years?

Some offense, decent size, good physicality, excellent defense and poise.

Sweet mother of Price! If he becomes as good as "Prime Roman Hamrlik"(tm), he'd be one of the best players to come out of the draft!
Remember RH was a first overall pick.

Meh, not really a scrapper. I don't think I've seen him fight live, come to think of it. More along the lines of a Gorges than a Hamrlik, imo, regardless of what his current point streak paints him to be. Maybe like a Gorges/Diaz mix or something, maybe, but I wouldn't put his "calibre" quite up in the Hamrlik region. Dude was pretty much a 40-50 point defenseman on some crappy teams (1st overall picks rarely start on strong teams, lol) during the dead puck era, which people don't quite seem to grasp.

We have a couple of good defensive prospects breaking out this year. Im impressed by Timmins, again. Tinordi, Beaulieu, Ellis, Dietz- its looking pretty good. Brendan Nash is kind of interesting too. I dont know much about Mac Bennett but some people are high on him too.
