Zach Bogosian has declined due to recovering from injuries.

Blake Wheeler hasn't declined yet, but I'd be surprised if he went. That's just the vibe I've gotten from him when he's answered questions about the tournament.

AFAIK, Stuart, Stapleton and Slater are good to go.

With his concussion issues I understand that one.

Buff actually sounded like he was mulling invite, despite injury and said that he would know more in next couple of weeks. Stuart told media he hadn't received a call. Bogo is a no go. Wheeler said "will have to do some soul searching on that one".

We spoke to the players in their season finale interviews, and Stuart, Bogosian, Byfuglien and Wheeler all spoke about the WC to some degree. To hear what the guys had to say, click here.

I'm surprised Stuart didn't get the call. Didn't he captain the team recently?

He might depending how other invites shake out. The U.S. already has four d-men on board:

Jack Johnson
Justin Faulk
Jeff Petry
Cam Fowler

I thought Stuart played poorly last year. But then again, nobody for the USA blueline really stood out at last year's tournament.

Ideally Stuart is a 4/5 guy-so on the U.S. team last year he was given way too much icetime. He'd line up well with a guy like Fowler/Faulk though.

Ryan and Fowler confirmed by OCR.

Hinted that Nick Bonino may be on his way as well...likely to play 4th line center. He's been on an upswing so his presence wouldn't HURT.

Well, it looks reality has set in (no offense to Bonino who had a nice year).

Petry has been a beast for a disgustingly bad Oilers team this year, glad he was invited to play for you guys and I hope he has a great tourney.

Chris Butler sounded like he really wanted to play for USA this season, hasn't heard anything yet though. Not sure he will end up getting a call, but if he does, he will be playing.

it seems like Dustin Byfuglien is still leaning on going to play for the US...It is very encouraging that he is saying that he is still thinking about it depending on his health. most guys are declining like Kessel that are hurt, but Big Buff is truly thinking about it.

Buff and Wheeler are huge additions to this squad. I hope Buff plays, that kind of blast from the point would be too sweet!!!

Kind of disappointed to see Kessel decline. Not that he won't be in the running for the 2014 team or anything but he could have used this tournament to solidify his potential spot, especially given how invisible he was in the 2010 Olympics. If he's injured then he's injured though.

This team really needs 2 of Pominville, Wheeler, and Stastny to accept now to really build a strong forward group for now and then hopefully leave about 3-4 spots overall open pending the completion of the first round of the playoffs.

Ryan Miller, no surprise, apparently declined.

It was reported by the local reporter Chip Alexander. It didn't say if he was even offered or not but just that he wouldn't play.

my ideal remaining guys would be...(and by ideal I mean realistic)

forwards - Eric Nystrom, Chad Larose, Drew Stafford, Jason Pominville, and Blake Wheeler

defense - Dustin Byfuglien, Tom Gilbert, and Alex Goligoski

goalies - Al Montoya and any first round goalie knocked out (Anderson, Bishop, Quick, etc)

still dont know who is going to play center though...not many options left
