I missed a hell of a game it seems, but I did catch the end!

Couldn't believe my eyes! I had to make sure it wasn't 1-0!

Great game by the Jets

I just realized Florida plays the two games they have in hand this weekend - Saturday versus the Preds and Sunday versus the Flyers. Meanwhile the Jets are off until Monday when they play the Sabres.

By Monday we'll know for sure just how much of an impact on the division this win had. Hopefully getting routed demoralizes them and they lose both games of the back-to-back.

Edit: they have three games in hand - they'll still have one after this weekend.

For those who think I'm trolling on the Panthers board, I apologize.

My thoughts on your team's playoff chances were not intended to be troll posts, just my honest opinion. Opinions could be wrong, of course.

I'd honestly rather see Winnipeg make it over teams like Washington; I just don't see it happening.

And I called them the Thrashers tonight after I heard the fans taunting Theodore/we were down 2-0 on 2 stupid plays so I was frustrated.

I have nothing against your team and while I hated hearing the Joseeee chants tonight, your fanbase is obviously very passionate about the sport. It's a very exciting atmosphere.

I'm writing this because I got a PM from one of your fans and I realized my posts over there might come out sounding stupid or something, but that wasn't my intention.

Hope your team can find some road wins and sneak into the playoffs. A playoff game in Winnipeg seems like it would be epic.

No probs, you had a couple of fake"jets" tolls over there. Don't take the Joseee chants to personally, all opposing team goalies get hazed like that in the MTS Centre.

Getting on your goalies/star players is not personal. Winnipeg fans just want to irk them to give the Jets an edge. Booing a star player is really a compliment. Jose really got it, as does every other goalie that comes in. The fans want to be involved but other than that there is no personal animosity at all.

It's your board. Don't let outsiders tell you what to think.

that's the interesting thing about hockey. Did anyone think Florida would be leading the southeast division? Or that Winnipeg would be doing so well? Do we know what the next few weeks hold in store? We don't. Everyone tries to make predictions, and everyone is usually wrong.

Taunting the goalie is something fans do to get under their skin and help the home team win. It's nothing personal.

I'm happy if Toronto is out. But, I'd love the irony of a Canadian team winning the southeast division title, so I'm hoping the heavens part wide open and that miracle happens. It would be glorious.

You can say whatever you want on your teams board IMO. You weren't trolling since it wasn't intended for Jets fans anyways. We always seem to get a few mystery Jets fans (ones that never post onthe Jets board) that go onto the opposition board and start arguements.

How do you troll your own GDT? You're perfectly entitled to your opinion.

Perhaps they're looking for Mark Scheifele.

I totally understand why that would piss you off. I remember a lot of the New Jersey fans thinking the same thing.

If your watching your team lose, and they happen to be playing against the Jets at the MTS center. You're bound to be angry... nobody likes to see their team lose and then be kicked while they're down.

It really is to try and get Jose Theodore to remember exactly what he just did wrong, rather then being able to just focus on the task at hand. It seems to work.

Anyways, hows about that 5 one 1 eh? I stood up in my seat as i was in total disbelief. I've seen 4 on 1's but a whole team against 1 player... wow.

zero problems Erick......IMHO what you say on your board is your business and we have a few posters over hear (myself included) that really don't take losing very well either.......thanks for the shout out much appreciated but definitely not expected.

as far as us being a long shot for the playoffs etc I think your point if very fair...tonight was big for us but we have left ourselves a huge hill to climb. I am just thrilled its March and we are in a playoff race

good luck the rest of the way.......I said it on our GDT but I think Florida deserves to be in 1st in the SE this year.....they have been very solid and consistent all year. Here's hoping Winnipeg and Florida make it in the same season and Washington and Tampa our on the outside looking in....what would that ticket in Vegas have been worth before the season started.

anyways way to man up......very rare quality on the internet.

That was the best game of the year. Hands down.
Everyone was absolutely amazing.

Kaner, Stu, Pavvy, GST, Wheeler... oh man, this was sweet.
So happy.
On to the next one.

The Flying W.... ridiculous!!

Buff has played well. I still saw him shooting some suicide passes Littles way tonight haha... much better then his usual roaming self though. Toby can pass the puck with his vision where Buff is his opposite, he's better suited to carry the puck out of the zone, and open up lanes that way... which he did a good job of tonight.

Our best dman tonight was by far Ron Hainsey. How many blocked shots and single effort clears on (i think it was 2 blocks and 2 clears) the Stapleton minor in the second... he was on his A game for sure.

a few random thoughts

getting this much time between games is a huge advantage for us right now.....a chance to get healthy. hurts to have all these outstanding games at hand against us but the upside is they have much busier schedules. This could actually work in our favour

I feel that was probably the Toby I got sold at the beginning of the year.....he was lights out and did all the little things so well. He and Buff had one of the most dominant nights I have seen out of any of our D parings this season........WOW BUFF (that's all I got)

So nice to have Bogo back and our top 4 on the ice together (72 man games lost by the group to date).....still shaking off a bit of the rust but he is so mobile and physical!!

I have to give props to Coach Noel...... I was a bit choked at him for leaving Ladd up on the first line and parking Kane on the 2nd line with Burmi and Welly. I was thinking why would you go back to that failed 1st line experiment since we saw that train wreck for the first 19 games. I was happy Burmi was getting some quality minutes on the 2nd line but thought it would slow Kane down. Well maybe it was just timing but both groups have been on such a roll and I think it took some courage for Noel to go with those groupings. I don't always like his line tinkering but man did he get this one right. we actually have balanced scoring right now. So cool to see our 2 youngsters ripping it up on the 2nd unit.

The number aren't in our favour as far as the playoff run goes and playing Buffalo at home (hottest team in the east), then going into Vancouver, and then back to backing in Calgary the next night is just ugly. But for my money none of that matters. I really want to make the playoffs but here we are in March on a roll and we are in the fight....as Noel called it a 17 now 16 game playoff. You can just see our young guys growing through this experience and that is what a playoff race can do......win lose or draw the fight can galvanize a young team and give them an identity. However this plays out this spring we are changing as a team and that is a good thing.

tonight "we shall dance and sing"

-NOEL must've lit a fire under the teams ***** after that 2nd period.

As far as Florida goes

Negative: Erik Gudbrandsson -4 and looked turrible.
Positive: Ellerby looked good and imo will turn into a fine D-Man.
I was somewhat surprised to see Wheeler get stepped up on twice in about 5 mins and have nobody come over and at least back him up. Maybe it's because Wheels can handle himself, i did see him and Ellerby (who stepped up on Wheels for the first big hit) having a "nice" conversation which Wheeler walked away from, maybe because his team was up... who knows. We still have more games this season vs the Panthers... i'm sure Wheeler has the numbers of Ellerby (#4) and Gudbranson (#44)

At least that's what I'm going to tell myself.

I should not get overly cocky since it was a close game untl the 3rd, but dammit, once in a while that is nice to see.
I find that if i put my Jets flag on my drivers side window on game days after a lose they usually win... if they do lose, i take it off the day before the next game then put it back up = win. It's hard work... but someones gotta do it.
