I watched the game from 1994 last night, As I did when i was 17 back then. Interesting game. Late in the 3rd periond Nick Kyproes checked Oilers Defenseman Adam Bennett into the boards and Bennett's knee buckled. He had to be carried off the ice, That was Bennetts last game in the NHL, as he never really recoved from that injury. Playing all of 15 professional games the rest of his career. Very sad to see something like that again.

I don't remember it. Was it a clean hit?

Yes it was a clean hit, Bennett just turned his knee the wrong way.

I hated Kypreos.

Watching these games is hard, considering how far they have fallen. 93-94 was my senior year of HS and June 14th (my last day) is a day I wouldnt trade to win the next 10 Cups. I lived on Long Island, and I'm sure some of you can relate to the joy I felt walking into my english final the next morning, hung-over wearing my brand new Stanley Cup Champs gear. Seeing the faces of my Isles fan friends who knew they could not say ANYTHING to ruin my mood or improve theirs.

Yeah, that was a tough hit. I kind of figured that was the end of Bennett's career. Sad to see.

The game had a lot of interesting stuff in it. Aside from Graves getting 50 and 51, Richter stoned Scott Pearson all seven times. He made some amazing saves.

Then you had Gretzky scoring #802 to break Howe's record later announced in Edmonton to which the fans stood up and cheered.

Plus some good young Oilers like McAmmond, Maltby (bet they wish they kept him), Arnott and Marchant (who came over for MacTavish).

Even a young Fred Brathwaite came in when Ranford got hurt.

Also, anyone noticed how well Kovalev played? Man.

Watching that game just reminded me of how great a player Gravey was before the back problems. Even with the back problems, I would take a team if 18 Adam Graves over the drek that has been calling themselves the Rangers over the last several years.

The post-game interview with Gravey was also a solid reminder of how great a person he is. I miss that man so much.

Well thats why the man is so respected, those back problems were caused by him being the team player he was and taking constant sticks to the back while playing in frint if the net getting them dirty goals.A true heart and sould player, was my favorite when here and always will be, a true gentleman and warrior.

the game is depressing.

It shows just how far the NHL game itself has fallen in 10 years.
