The celebration for that win against the Isles really seems pathetic right now.

Does Ovechkin still have his girlfriend. Maybe he is scoring elsewhere?

This is the sad thing...they still wouldn't have sold. Only if they were pretty much eliminated would they have sold, only then...trust me.

We are so fuggin fragile mentally. Semin puts it right on Chim's stick in at the paint in the 1st, nothing. Ovy puts it on Aucoin's stick at the goalmouth, nothing. Devils get a PP, and we don't ever touch the puck until it's in the back of the net - and then we gift 'em 2 goals, and then we die.

Who is the guy on the team to tell the rest of his mates to stop being babies, and pull their heads out of their *****, we're only down a goal or two, go and fuggin compete. Get pissed off about it. Instead we let adversity snowball on -- and then steamroll over -- us like we're a team of 11 year olds. It's fuggin ridiculous.

If they're not going to have more belief than they showed tonight, then why should any of us.

TB is winning

Ott lost

Ott, Wash, Tor and Fla dont seem to want it. Winn, Buff and Tampa do. 3 of these 7 make it. with at least one SE.

Ott has a good cushion, so they are in the drivers seat overall, and Fla is ahead of Was/Winn in the SE.

So it could come down to 1 of Was, Winn, Buff, and Tampa.

We aren't playing well. We had what was deemed by many as a potentially galvanizing come back win on Tuesday, then tonite happens. So the vaunted/touted 3 game winning streak, against the #11, #13, and #15 teams in our conference was...what?

You decide.

Perhaps they know they aren't good enough to come back. Perhaps they really aren't good enough. Perhaps they just aren't that good.

There isnt anyone. Not that Ovechkin, Semin, Green will listen too. I purposely leave off Backstrom, as I think he is cut from a different cloth than the rest, but he's only one guy.

Knuble? Obv not, he's been there the entire time.

Laich? Ditto the above. Fat chance

Chimera? Wish it was, but thats not his role, never has been.

Brouwer? He commented tonight, will see what that does?

Erskine? He's not playing

Halpern? 4th line grinder, just got here, no Cups

Hamrlik? He's not playing, just got here

Vokoun? He's not playing, just got here, no Cups

The Caps real vets (Hamrlik, Vokoun, Halpern were brought into this mess, save Knuble, and have voiced wanting out or are ex Caps/Hometown boy who wont rock the boat.

Maybe its Dale?

You hit the nail on the head, and the issue McPhee simply WILL NOT address, and has never done so save Federov.

Veteran Cup winners that can show this team how to win when it matters, and who has their head on straight.

Fire George, use the talent we have to trade for some new dynamics, and get a new coach. This team needs a full frontal lobotomy, and a great big enema.

Then we might have something.

Captain Obvious here to say that the Caps about 2 skill players short. 3 with Backstrom out.

Ovechkin has no one to play with. He has to skate through 3 players and pass to Ward or Mojo or Brouwer. Those guys don't have enough hockey sense to play with Vech. Semin is in the same boat. They both can play harder but they aren't machines. It has to be incredibly frustrating for them to be on the ice with some of these plumbers (Ward, Laich, Hendricks, Schultz, Knuble nowadays, I like Brouwer but he isn't skilled enough to take the pressure off).

With Backstrom and Green healthy the team would be respectable but wouldn't sniff the Cup. They need 2 more high hockey IQ guys at least. But with the bad contracts of Laich and Ward and Hamr I don't think it's possible to acquire those players right now.

Not even. Finishing ninth should do it. Thin ice.

It should, but I think the harder hit in Ted's wallet will have the more significant impact.

What will be hilarious/pathetic/depressing/humiliating is when Toronto passes the Caps due to the bump in play a team gets when they hire a real coach.

Saw the game was out of hand so watched the 3rd period live after the caps 'packed it in'. If there is any theme to this season it is Jekyll and Hyde Capitals team this year.

To purge even that 3rd period watched a good portion of a few games from the 2009-2010 season. Interesting to see the 3rd forward high getting down in the mix and forcing the other team to sag. Hindsight 20/20...wish BB didn't let those 'whispers' get to him. That being said there are some players that should take the blame overall.
