Carey Price (from a Montreal fan!)

With all the flood of Schneider to Tampa Bay trade proposal, i think Vancouver fan often forgot that Schneider is not the only goalie out there and if they are asking for Connolly + your 1st, other teams will notice and say: ''Wait, what? I would gladly give them my starter for less than that.)

So i decided to use the Tampa Bay section of this forum to hopefully avoid fans of Montreal (or any other teams) saying i am underselling price, i already know what they think, i dont want their opinion. What i want is to be able to work on a proposal I and most of the Tampa fans would agreed to.

So here is my first offer:

To Tampa Bay: Price, Emelin, 2nd
To Montreal: Connolly + 1st

Any counter offer?

If we finish in the bottom-10, no. If we finish close to eighth in the East then possibly.

EDIT: On second thought, yes. Unless we pick top-3. Then we'll change our first for Detroit's and one or two 2nd rounders.

Stop being silly. Carey Price is an absolute proven stud, and still really young. Screw draft picks, give me the guy that can backstop the team for the next ten years.

Then we can revisit this trade at the end of the season ?

Or maybe fix some compensation according to the final ranking of the pick ?

By the way if Price want 5 000 000-6 000 000$

Who would you cut from your actual line up to make place for Price salary?

Well i base the value of the 1st according to the current ranking (4th to 10th)

We can revisit this trade after the season and adjust the value according the to the final ranking of this pick. I agree if its a top 3 pick, we need to modify it, alternatively if you make the playoff and the pick is 20th overall, the deal is off and want more value back.

Don't care about where we finish. This deal would be done by TB before Gauthier could finish proposing it.

When it come to tampa bay, its not about cap room

its about internal budget.

But well, considering Roloson contract is 3 500 000$ adding price even a 5 500 000$ doesnt sound like a too big step. But it would probably mean a downgrade somewhere on the lineup.

Oh this again

Vinik will spend if Yzerman says it's good for the team and it's a necessary piece. He's shown no inclination to go cheap on anything and if he can get Cary Price he'll authorize the funds.

Fair enough

For once it feel fresh to have a proposal that both side agree, without the endless pointless argumentation.

But its kinda boring.....

Hedman for Subban?

I'd do the OP proposal every day of the week and twice on Sunday. If Price wants 5-6 million per year, I give it to him. With a guy like Price who'll be playing net for you for the next decade, you give him it because he's good enough that you don't need to stack your defense for it to be all world.

If Price were somehow available in the offseason because he wants too much that the Habs are willing to give, then I sure hope SFY goes after him instead of Schneider or anyone else. Price is a proven stud.

Something I never realized, Price is actually younger than Schneider. I always thought he was a year or two older.

Schneider 'Youngness' is so overrated. He is older than a lot of veteran.

Unless signed, Price only come with a 3years guarantee before UFA status. But its three time better than Schneider UFA eligible summer 2013.

No they wont, They didnt want to trade Halak too. What i would plan to do is a reconstruction. Not a popular idea.

Last summer, i wanted to trade price for Carter but they was saying Price was the only reason we wasn't a bottom ranking team.

Well, with Price this season we are a bottom ranking team, we are having the worst season in the Team history.

Without Price, in the past 100 years Montreal was doing better, Without Price, 27 teams this season are doing better than us.

Im not saying he isn't good, he is an elite Goalie and that's why i am asking a great deal in return (Connolly + 1st is Similar to theCarter/Richard rerturn). What i am saying is his impact on the team is overrated.

Yeah, not sure why Montreal still dislikes Price. I'd make the deal

That's terrible reasoning for trading your best player for well below his value. I'll take the trade, but seems like Montreal's problems get worse if they trade Price.

Well, if its well below his value, how much more would you be willing to give me for Price?
